Well just what my title says do u wind a baby whos breast fed?

I did, and sometimes she gets wind now but it's from drinking water x

Yes you do but unlike bottle fed babies breast fed ones let you know when they have wind. As they won't always get it xxx

Yes. And it's a myth that they dont get colic. I think they might get it less statistically but they do get it so be sure to wind :)

Yes. They get windy from crying and sucking their fingers, or a dummy, not just feeding. Amelie was terribly windy when she was younger actually :(

Yep i winded charlie when he was BF not as much as a person who bottle feeds does because he didnt seem to need it that much but it was still needed sometimes, he never got colic but there was a few weeks i had too use infacol for him because he wouldnt part with it! x

I wind Olivia after every feed and usually get at least one satisfying burp come up! The expression on her face after she has done it is so funny xx

Olivia was just the same, really struggled when she was tiny actually x

oh yes, unless you want to spend all night with a screaming baby.
robyn and ewan both had bouts of colic.

Oh yeah. If I don't get a few good burps out of him, as soon as I lay him down, he spits up. He still does anyway sometimes. :)

Yeh i winded Ellie and sometimes she suffered with trapped wind to. Benn was abit colicy to.

Yeh i do with every feed as Kaleb has trouble with his wind xx

Silly me was under the impression that you didn't need to wind a breast fed baby - my next door neighbor who breast fed hers told me before I had LO that you didn't need to. thankfully my midwife put me straight...and I now wind him, seems to be sick less often if he is winded

Jack has gradually needed winding less and less, but he still needs it once a day or so. You can often tell they need it if they get a blue tinge to their upper lip.

The over-the-shoulder method rarely works with Jack. I sit him up in my lap after a feed and lean him forwards slightly, taking his weight on my hand across his chest and he usually brings it up himself but sometimes needs a little pat on the back.

Ooh, how do they do that? I think Abby needs winding as she is often a wee bitty sick after feeds but more often than not, when I try to wind her, nothing happens. I never know if that is because I am doing it wrong, or not for long enough or what. I've tried the over the shoulder, and on the lap but to no avail. If there is a way to know if she actually needs it, I'd love to know what that is!

Help!!

Dont agree with Logibears statement, i think whether breast or bottle they will always cry or be obviously uncomfortable if they have wind.

One menthod i found quite good was to walk up and down the stairs with baby on my shoulder, that always seems to get the wind up.

Great tip. Might reduce the size of my arse at the same time!!

Ive BF all 4 of my kiddies and ive had to wind them all after every feed, they all swallowed loads of air whilst feeding somehow lol xxx

yeh, although you dont get as many burps out of them as a bottle fed baby. Riley seems to have more wind in his bottom half then top half if you know what i mean and he releases a couple every time i wind him :)

wind? is gas right... well if so my Javi does get it now and then.. he sucks so viciously sometimes gets air.. :(
