Sophie sucks so hard on her bottle that the teat goes in. Do you think we should use the teats with two holes now? It says on the packet 3 months plus and shes only 17 days old!

What bottles r u using?

edt: if u'r using TT CTN even if u move to next size they'll keep going in.

Sometimes the anti-colic valves on the TT CTN bottles get stuck shut. After you wash the teat, gently squeeze the edges of the valve (from the sides) so that it pops open. That can help stop the teats collapsing.

The TT size 1 teats are so slow that it's unreal. Our little one was on the stage 2 teats at 2 weeks old, and has been on them ever since.

If you're not using TT bottles, then I'm not sure! Although my daughter did stay on the size 2 teats no matter what bottle it was, after we'd made the switch from TT.

I am using TT teats and bottles too and Anna caves them in too - but as someone else said, maybe the next size will too!

Anna is 10 wks - I have tried her a couple of times on the size 2 and she has just brought the milk back up so it is too quick for her. I dont think the teat caving in is causing a problem - it actually gets the milk out quicker.

I know the size 2 says 3+months so I will wait another couple of weeks and give it a go. As I said Anna is not having any problems with the teats so I would be happy to leave her on size 1 but I have some size 2 that came free with the bottles.

I have tt closer to nature and the teet gets sucked in i think its cause theyr so soft xx

We have the same tt problem..we switched to the veri flow ones and he started projectile vomiting so back we went lol..i have found if it collapses looses the top a little and it helps also squeezing the vent/washing it in hot water helps too x

i switched to next size teats a few days ago as ds was taking an hour to feed as kept falling asleep, wasnt taking the full bottle then was wanting fed again 1 to 1.5 hours later,i felt like he was working too hard at getting milk out.Now he seems to be on a good routine of every 3 hours and longer periods inbetween at night and is taking full bottle....thats just me tho,had the same problem with teats collapsing in (i had thought it was cos he was trying to hard) but reading other peoples post it seems to be a commen problem. Why not try her on next size teat for a feed to see if it makes a difference? He was nearly 8 weeks tho when switched as id bf so not sure for 17 days but every baby is different x

no harm in trying, if they are too fast you can always swap back
i also had tt ctn bottles and occasionally get a collapsed teat, i just make sure i take the bottle out and put it back in quite a lot when she is feeding

get on the 2 hole ones! we did with H at 2 weeks and he's been brill on each bottle, sorry to gatecrash the thread but he's 10 weeks now and wondering do we go up to the 3 hole ones automatically at 3 months as they suggest or just see when he needs them?

So, why did you move onto the size 2?

Was H taking too long to feed??

I wouldnt know when to move Anna on - she is 10wks and still on size 1 and we are not having any problems. She can take a 6 oz bottle including stops for burping etc in 30mins - or should she be taking it down quicker??
