we have budgeted ten pounds for each adult and 20 for friends children (theres only 2 of them)
we dont budget for lyssa though i just buy as i see.... which im not sure if thats the clever way to do it or not?
i aim never to buy anything full price, so i buy throughout the year as things go on offer
anyone else?

nope  we'll get what we can afford, we'll have a £20 each budget for relatives and theres 7 of them :flower:

thanks girls,
ive no idea what i spent on lyssa last year. i try to never buy full price so and im certainly not going to put myself in debt but my mom seems to find it quite weird that i dont have a set price in mind of what i'll be spending on her x

We have set a budget for the children and everyone else, it is as little as possible.

I made the mistake of never setting a budget for my daughter and she has had so much stuff over the years that have never got played with. When I think of all the money that has been wasted. Well now second LO, we have to budget.

I am also looking at second hand toys. Learning from my daughter, they don't care or know if it is new or not. She can't even remember what she had for xmas last year and she is 8!

I want to make xmas about spending time and having fun with family, not how many presents you can get.

totally agree with you hun, i only buy something if i think she'll play with it/ needs it, one of her birthday presents this year is a toothbrush! im hoping that it'll make it more exciting for her!
when i think back on christmas' gone by i cant remember what gifts i got, its my family i rememberm thats what i want for lyssa too xx

I spend what we can afford, i will never get in debt or use credit cards for Chrismas ever. I have started really early this year as i've got LO main present and a few other bits already. I didn't start until November last year and Christmas was so stressful as LO didn't get much and me and OH didn't get anything either!. OH has worked so hard this year he deserves a magical time, and what we have been told he will be working hard next year to as the company is doing so well!.

I set out the budget for this year and its the same! £10 for adults and £20 for the kids. I think it totals us about £250 then Alexs on top that will be part paid by market research vouchers :D

My daughter has had toothbrushes on a few occassions for Xmas. The novelty ones are good and they still get used once Xmas has long passed :)

I'm getting Myles a toothbrush too, for his stocking:thumbup:

I haven't really thought about it yet but last year was:
£15 for the adults
£50 for parents
£50 for LO
£75 for OH (we match each others budget)

Will be around the same this year except for LO because I've already gone over

I haven't really thought about it yet..
All I know is my kids are going to cost me a fortune with the things they want, luckily Iv saved through the yr....

Iv bought for most of the adults i.e the parents, inlaws ect already, I did that through the yr so Iv not got to worry about them really. I'll just buy wine to top their presents up haha.

I normally spend about £20 on the neice and nephew and about £30 on the OH's sister aswell but I'll probably give them vouchers again!
x

i've not thought about it. i will just get jake a couple of things. :)
he had a lot for his birthday. might get my dad a book and my brother something that he wants, more than likely a game. that's about it for me. small family! :flower:

somebody get me the game of life board game! :haha: I have on the laptop but its not the same, I lent mine to my cousin ages ago but he lost the pieces :nope: I can't find it anywhere online thats not too expensive :(

taylor and mia both get presents valuing to £100 each but get little presents so it looks like they have more, then we get em a big present for £40 each.
neice gets £20
family £20 depending on who (bro & sis dont get us out so i refuse to spend loads on them)

i never budget tbh, i normally buy 2 pressies each for adults, just 2 smelly sets or something, one smelly set and one box of sweets for each teenager and i dont really have any kids to buy for other than mine, who get ridiculously spoilt lol, me and paul buy each other loads of little things normally but this year he wants a £400 laptop

oh and OH- i spend about £80

and last year i made stockings for OH and the kids and filled em with little things, like small little bottles of bubble bath, gold coins little teddies(obv not in OH's lol) and colouring book!.....sadly OH didnt make me one despite me dropping hints :( lol

yer i should of filled it with expensive stuff lol

hes crap at xmas tho!
i got him a watch, two box sets, an outfit, smelly set, new trainers, cd, and expensive hair pruducts.

he got me- a bag (which isnt my style) a giant mug with jelly beans in???, some chocolate, socks??, a cd, and £20 in a card???
hmmmmmm not sure ill put the effort in this year lol
