do you have to pay for scans? UK

if you are worried then you can always ask for more, they might not give but its always worth an ask.

Since 27 weeks I have had a scan at least once a fortnight.

Dread to think what it costs the NHS, but they like to give me them

My 20 week scan I offered a donation and was told not to worry and given 8 picture? very odd.

hmm very lucky.

will just have to see what happens with me i guess..

no harm in asking though :) x

at my local hospital we have to pay for our scan pictures, £5 per picture

wow thats terrible hun shocking, mind you would pay that in a heartbeat but still i have over 20 scan pictures from my pregnancy with my son never paid for one of them, were all free sometimes got like 3-5pictures.

I had scans at 5, 6, 11, 12 & 20 weeks.
All of them bar one I didn't pay for the pictures, the 20 week scan I had to pay for and it was a donantion of at least £3.

I was meant to pay for the pictures at my 12 week scan but they kept us waiting ages with a full bladder that she let me have them for free

I had scans every 2 weeks from 5 weeks until 29 weeks and then from 29 weeks until i had him i had scans every 2 days. I was only meant to be having the scans every 2 weeks due to me losing my daughter at 21 weeks but then my waters started leaking at 29 weeks and my placenta was failing and they needed to keep a close eye on it so if they needed to they could get him out early so i had scans every 2 days. I my hospital pics are £3, i got loads but only ever paid for a couple.

I dont want this to sound awful but you keep saying you want more than 2 scans and i do think people who have a mc should have an early scan aswell because i know how worrying it is when youve lost a baby but wouldnt you rather have a healthy pregnancy and only have 2 scans?

also have to say girls a scan at 40wks is very important from 40wks the cord and placenta start to fail hence not letting you go more than 42wks for induction as chance of losing baby increases so all scans are important on the nhs you usually get 2 scans although i think tbh there should be more to help spot problems
