I had this scan today at 27 and a half weeks. Baby is head up with his face laying on the placenta like a pillow. What you can see is his cord floating across his neck. I'm a little concerned. I don't even want him to attempt to turn head down when he could get tangled up...stress, stress, stress. Does anyone know anything about this?

Is the cord actually looped around his neck? xx

The cord will float around in there and baby will probably move it out the way. If your concerned you could ask your midwife about it and keep an eye on babies movements? xx

mine was exactly the same at my 27 week scan! i hadn't even thought about it to be honest, the cord is bound to cross their necks occasionally. baby turned for me at about 30 weeks and no cord was seen there on my growth scan at 34 weeks. try not to worry but mention it to your midwife if you are concerned. x

alot of babies are born with the cord around their neck, most of the time it isnt serious, my babies cord was around his neck loosely, the midwife didnt even tell me my mum did 3weeks later, so it must be quite commen for them not to say? but id speak with your midwife and show her the pictures. But for now keep an eye on your babies kicks x

hiya i had a scan at 26+1 and baby was head down but was wearing the cord lime a scalf - i had a scan at 28 + 4 and asked the sonographer and she said cord was fine to be to that position

Ok, i'm starting to relax. With my other 3, they were all head down by my 20 week scan, with placenta high and cord well out the way. This is new to me. I much prefer what my other kids did lol
