Does anyone have any concerns for the safety of TENS machines?

I'm in the process of ordering a tens machine, but my dr here in Germany has never heard of it, neither has the midwife and I am starting to wonder if it is completely safe or not.........

Yes it is perfectly safe and in the Uk is used as a legtimate source of natural pain control.
