Does anyone have BFing LO with food alergies?

Yup banana allergy is linked with asthma and I know those who have banana allergy cannot have aspirin as there is a substance in both that could cause a severe reaction. My dad is allergic to bananas though it is only the slightly underripe ones that cause him issues. He had childhood asthma, outgrew it but when he has underripe bananas it triggers off an attack of wheezing again. It's less common for bananas to cause gastrointestinal symptoms either direct or via breastmilk but from what I am reading it's not impossible. Xx

I didnt know banana allergy is linked to asthma. I have severe allergic asthma myself and there is lots of asthma in the family which is part of the reason I have been so desperate to make EBFing work because they say it lowers the risks for asthma. My brother had a scary time with his children. The doc wasnt sure one of his boys was going to make it a couple of times. I am very alergic to many perfumes and cleaning products. I have no food allergies that I know of except that I react badly to to many chemical preservativs and flavourings. I had to cut out most packaged and premade foods because of it which I gusess makes it easier to do an ellimination diet.
