Hi,

I have been getting round to booking my driving test for the last few weeks. I'm 32 weeks and didn't realise the waiting list! The only free test is when I'll be about 38 weeks. I feel ok and like I could do it now but have no idea how I'll feel at 38 weeks. I really wanted to get this done and (hopefully) pass before my son is born. Silly me left it really late!:dohh: There's always a chance I might go into labour the day before and lose the money. I can't decide what to do. I could wait till after the birth but don't want to pay for any extrs lessons whilst on mat leave. Can't decide what to do

i would go for it the odd of having your LO on that day are very slim they might not arrive for another 4 weeks after that day

good luck x

im ready for my test but leaving till iv had baby as im just so tired and uncomfortable, good luck for when you have yours x

I still need to do the driver's test as well.... Ugh. I really wanted to get it done before Colin comes but now I'm thinking it might be best to wait. :( Especially because I still need a bit more practice before I am ready to go take the test.

I'm sure you can claim "extenuating circumstances" if you do have to cancel at last minute. I did this for my theory test as my Gran died and I didn't lose any money. I'm not 100% sure you can do that for your practical test but it might be worth asking.

I passed my driving test when I was 3 weeks pregnant, I didn't know i was pregnant. My driving instructor told me I cheated because I had baby to help me :haha:

I wouldnt have been able to do mine. I couldnt fit behind the wheel of my car from about 35 weeks, my bump was right against the wheel cos i have tiny legs and i just didnt feel safe.

Other than that the chances of you going into labour that day are slim, and it would be good to get it out the way

I would do it now. What the hell... it will probably be easier to do it at 38 weeks pregnant than having to arrange a sitter. Plus you never know when you might really need that driver's licence when baby arrives if your husband is stuck at work or something and you need to drive baby somewhere. And you never know... the evaluator might go a little easier on ya too ;-)

Another thing to keep in mind is they probably will have cancellations between now and then so keep calling back... you might get an earlier date. Good luck!
