So we had our 12 week scan today, and all went well which is great news!

I'm not sure whether it really matters as such but I'm totally confused about due dates. I don't suppose I really 'need' to know, but I'd like to understand so if anyone can explain I'd be really grateful!

According to my cycle length and lmp I should be due 2nd August. The nhs midwife told me I'd be due 27th August because it seems they don't alter your dates for a longer cycle for whatever reason.

At the scan today, I was put back a day but they have put my due date down as 29th July....

Can anyone explain?!

Wow, that's a big difference? How weird. I'd go with the scan date, why wont your midwife?

I don't see why the midwife won't, in fact I'm certain she will, but she doesn't know yet as my scan was only today.

I guess my question really is "do all babies grow at the same speed regardless of your cycle length?"

For the first few weeks all development is the same that is how they can say how many weeks you are
