Early risers - matchsticks at the ready!

 hello all how are our early risers today?
morgan was up at 6am again today but has conjunctivitis so my poor wee girl was screaming because her eye was stuck shut :(

I bring Ruby into bed with us when she wakes. She never goes back off to sleep but she will sit there chatting and cuddling for a bit.

Last night was ridiculous! Was asleep by 7pm but fully woke at 2.30am, happy and chatting, couldn't get her back off to sleep, so brought her into our bed where she chatted and recited chuggington characters names for an hour!! She did go back off until 7.30 though so can't complain that much.

Today she has had a very long nap (2 hours 20 mins when 1 hour is the norm) so hopefully she will be less OT come bedtime and sleep a bit more restfully tonight.

Reedy  welcome to the thread hun (although sorry you have to join!)

Claire LOL at the chuggington recital!!! I find myself singing the theme tune on a regular basis 'chuggington, chugga chugga chugga...'

Ok, I know Charlotte is an early riser but waking up 45 minutes after going down for the night is seriously taking the p**s. She went down at 7pm, woke at 7.45pm & is still awake now, over 3 hours later. She's full of the joys of spring too, wanting to crawl everywhere & practice pulling herself up. She hardly slept last night either & was up for the day at 5.30am so I'm knackered. God I hate these developmental milestone thingies.

Oh hope she hasn't got you up yet Cath!!

5.10 for us today, am so tired I really need those matchsticks today, my eyes feel like p*ss holes in the small amount of snow we have

No plans for today other than going back for a nap when M does and picking up my DD from her dads at midday - not seen her for 4 days as she has been doing some theatre work near her Dad's house so it was easier for her to stay there.

5.20 for us!

We come donwstaris and I pop him in his playpen for half hour while I catch up on here as its generally the only time I get to come on at the moment.

We are housebound still due to Olivers cold and a lot of snow so its a very long day with a very hyperactive little boy who wont sit still for a minute

Thanks Golcarlily but unfortunately it didnt really help her sleep in any later-6am for us but with a 2am wake-up thrown in too. My eyes feel like they're bleeding. Hope you manage to grab anap later to catch up.

daisydoo, hope the day goes nice & quickly for you:hugs:

I am hearing you on the housebound front, we don't actually have that much snow at the minute but it is so cold and icy it's not really safe to go out so we are just getting more and more bored by the day and as you say when you are up so early the day just seems to go on forever! I can't wait till Friday when DH will be home, at least its someone else to talk to!

6-6:15 I have little footsteps coming into the bedroom.
Its being getting light earlier each day so Sean was waking up earlier. Sometimes at 5.

I've taught him what 6 am looks like on the clock and if he comes into our room before 6, he knows he gets put back into his room. Now I hear his door occasionally at +-5:30, see a head stick out and then he goes back to bed until exactly 6am. Its so cute and funny.

Well hellllloooooo :hi:

My head is *pounding* with the reasons why H might be woken :dohh:
And it keeps changing!

She used to be 7.20am without fail, loved that.
We had a run of 5.30am recently, getting to 6.30am feels like an achievement.

BUT what's bringing me to my knees is the last 4 nights being awake from 3.30am.
First night was until 5.30am then slept til 8.15am - I didn't mind that so much!
The second night she didn't go back down at all. I can't really remember the 3rd night - I think I had to bring her down but did get her to go back off for 45 mins 'til 6.30am. Last night was awake 3.30am-5.30am then back off until 6.45am

We did have that typical run of 4.30am total wake ups - but looking back I'm thinking that was during her first major teething session... I think we're having another one now. She's certainly very unhappy with her ears :(

We went down to one nap a couple of weeks ago, which is working really well. I'm counting my blessing that bedtime is really very easy in comparison to days of old. But teething, extra heating/boiler activity with the cold, and change of day-sleep seems to have really buggered up the mornings again

Hi Seraphim, boy 3.30 is BAD!! hope it doesn't last long bet that is a killer!

Hi Ratty that is so cute, I can't wait till M is old enough to understand like that, I have found a sleep clock trainer that changes colour I am going to get

Also can't wait for Thursday cos DH is home Friday so its my turn for a lie in, I have felt shattered all day today.

My youngest (14 month) is great, he will sleep until half 7, even if he wakes up earlier he plays quietly in his cot and i dont even realise he's awake!

My 3 yr old used to be really good too, sometimes not coming out of his room until 7:30-8am. We moved house 6 weeks ago and since then hes been waking between 5-6am with the odd 7am morning which i absolutely love!! Most of the time though i hear his door open and little footsteps around 6am, he goes straight in his brothers room and wakes him up then comes in my room and tells me 'time to wake up'

I probably wouldnt mind so much but being on my own and pregnant the early mornings nearly kill me! especially since he wont nap anymore so its non stop with him all day

Suppose im lucky he doesnt wake in the night at all and is no trouble to put to bed i just hate seeing 5 something when i look at my clock in the mornings, it still feels like the middle of the night!! :dohh:

Ellis has been an early riser from get go, 5a.m is the usual although half 4 isn't unknown -although if she gets up at that time i usually breastfeed her into submission and she will fall asleep again about 6a.m and then we all sleep in! The past couple of weeks though from out of nowhere she started sleeping until 6- 6.30. It was like i'd died and gone to heaven, no idea what changed but unfortunately its changed back and we're back at the middle of night wakenings and 5.30 rises. Although this a.m i 'd let her sleep with ne cause she was poorly, whe she woke at 5.20 i told her no way, to get back to sleep-and she did!!! Til half 6!! Hurrah!! It is a total nightmare though.

:yipee: 6.20 this morning :yipee: Who would have ever thought that 6.20am would feel like a lie in?

Morning ladies,

Well today Myles woke at 4.30 I could have cried! I decided no way I was getting up so I went down and got him some milk, checked his nappy which was fine, let him have some milk then he gave it back to me so I put him back in his cot and he started crying again after 5 mins, I went back in, told him it was still sleepy time and to go back to sleep and he did!!!! It prob took me about another half hour to go back to sleep but then I woke up at half six :happydance: I feel so much better this morning, especially as I had an early night last night to try and catch up on some sleep!!

Anababe you are going to have your hands full with 3 little ones, have you been on your own long?

La woke at 3.45 - but fortunately went back to sleep after half an hour until 7ish. Felt like a little holiday!

Glad to hear the good news this morning

We had a reasonably good (improved) night aswell :)
11.30-12 then 3.30-4.30 and slept til 7.30 :yipee:
When she went to sleep at 4.30 I was so relieved I could have cried. Being up with her for 2 hours trying to keep her sleepy and IN her bed has been hard work

Tell me about it! Im terrified haha Im sure we'll be fine. well ive been single mum with my first two as i used a donor to conceive with them. This one was unplanned, i was with someone for a little while found out i was pregnant and he didnt want anything to do with me or baby so yeah pretty much always been on my own. Finding it hard at minute being pregnant with two toddlers but hopefully once this one is here ill have some energy back!

Caeden woke up at 5:40am today, not a chance could i get out of bed i was soo tired, luckily he went into his brothers room and they played quietly until the dog made me get up at 6:45. I didnt sleep much from when he woke up but i just needed to stay in bed my eyes were really not wanting to open!

My dad has taken them both today for the night so i get a lie in tomorrow!! Woooo :happydance: Well only until 8am as i need to get up for dog but 8am is amazing compared to half 5!
