I did a urine sample a couple of weeks ago for the midwife which she checked using the sticks and said it looked ok - was just a routine sample. She sent the sample off with my booking bloods and I just got a letter in the post saying I need to repeat my sample as enterococcus faecalis is present in my sample... i have looked it up on the web and it usually means your urine is contaminated with faecal contaminants - but i never wipe the wrong way. I am really confused as to why its there, I have no infection or cystitis symptoms or discharge. Will I need treatment?

hun i didnt wanna read and run but i dnt know much about this, i would ahve said they will put u on safe antibiotics if it is found again but dnt panic urself sweetie if it was real serious they would have had u come into hosp for lots of checks what with u being preg, let us know and maybe do a bit of googling about this in pregnancy u may find someoe who has had this happen and u may find if u will need treating or not xoxox hope its nothing huns and clear this time xoxoxox

hey huns me again lol iv done some reading on web for u and there are other ways of Enterococcus faecalis entering inside u...right maybe tmi but it has to be sais as u need help... when u and OH :sex: it possible that his penis could have first totched ur bum  b4 entering inside u picking up the bacteria then transfering into u, also the same thing but with OH's hands and wiping the wrong way which u have already said u dnt do.
it seems to be simply treated huns with anti-biotics BUT this was not in pregnancy info so ur doc will know whats best if still found in r urine but like i say dnt panic hunny its not serious xxxxx
