I had a blood draw just over 2 weeks ago, after a positive hpt only to get the sad news my hcg was only 9 and I should prepare for another loss, 2 days later the second blood test was at 6.2 and so I was told to stop taking my progesterone prescription and let the miscarriage happen naturally. Four days later I started to have a heavy bleed, just like my other early m/c. I didn't think much of it. My doctor always likes me to make sure I am back to no hcg before trying again so I use a home test as confirmation. I had forgotten to do that and on Christmas eve when i felt some strange pulling in my lower abdomen it reminded me. I thought I should test to make sure because something felt a little strange.

This was my first month on the progesterone prescription so I wanted to be sure it hadn't kept anything around, after all, it was almost 2 weeks after the test shoing only 6.2 hcg so it should be gone. Imagine my surprise when 2 line appeared again, faint second line but a line all the same.

Doctor was confused, and had me come in for a blood draw to double check, saying perhaps it was a faulty hpt. So when she claled me back saying my hcg was now 17 everyone was confused. It is still oo low to be a viable pregnancy but they have no idea why it is starting to rise, or if it rose and is now falling again or what in the world is happening. I have to go back n for another test and an ultra sound on Wednesday (we are supposed to be going out of town tomorrow and if we do she said it is ok to wait until Monday for the tests). She doesn't seem to think it is urgent, and there is no biological way it could be a new pregnancy so she sent my blood to other labs to test for a few other things so I guess we'll see.

Anyone heard of anything that remotely resembles what;s happening to me?

She said with numbers so low it is unlikely to be ectopic pregnancy and she also spoke with an GYN cancer doc who didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about in that area (relief) but no one can tell us what might be happening.

I have heard of people ovulating immediately after a MC due to the hectic hormones going on your body can get confused and release an egg. Is it possible that you have conceived again immediately after the MC and that this is infact the very very early stages of another pregnancy??!!

xxxx

when was your previous af before your mc bleed and when was your mc bleed?

I had a very strong positive HPT after a miscarriage..bleeding had all stopped and I was very confused. About a week after bleed I started to spot again and passed some small clots. Doc reckons there was a little bit of leftover tissue/placenta that may have caused positive test. However, I didn't have blood draw done so don't know what levels were. I hope you get an answer soon...very hard being in limbo!

Thanks ladies,
My m/c started 2 weeks before the second (17 hcg) blood draw. Before that I had had a period at the normal time in my 31 day cycle.
My temps looked normal and so did everything else, but now I have no idea?!

My fertility doc is going to do an ultra sound net Monday and take another blood sample. So hope to know more then. She wanted to do it Wednesday but we are on vacation and with the holidays this weekend Monday was the earliest she could do.

Really hoping they have answers then.

Thanks for the kind thoughts x
