Im in Oman at the moment, I might well be in Spain in Sept as well as we are thinking of moving there depending on work! xx

Im not from the UK but from South Africa now living in Holland :) that makes me an expat :P

Welcome :) What made you move to Holland? x

I'm from the UK and living in America now :)

Hi! :D

I'd love to live in Holland! So would my mum...she's talked about it a lot, but hasn't been able to so far.

xx

Well my dh moved here for work (works for a huge IT company) 2 years ago, I followed 4 months later (stayed behind to sell/sort everytthing) and here I am 1,5 years later :)

Its very nice but the language is tough, so would of rather moved to UK or America to at least be ok with speaking to people.

Of course we moved in mid-recession so i never found a job here and got pregnant 3 months in...so now Im a sahm in Amsterdam :)
What are all your expat stories?

I'm also an expat (although I was born here in UAE-Dubai). I'm Syrian, was living here with my family, but when I got married, they all moved back to my home town.

I love living here, it's very convenient although there r some difficulties now due to the recession as it really affected our income.

I was working in the property sector, but quit my job when I got married in 07, & now I'm a SAHM. I have one cute baby Omar who's 3 mnths old, & I really enjoy being a mother.

hi we're expats here in oman but planning to move in the uae next year:flower:

Hey little vixe, im in oman too!!! where abouts are you?

We moved here as dh grew up here & wanted to move out of uk as everything was so expensive, we are going to be moving in a few weeks though as have found the part of Oman we are in much too quiet!

ive got a couple of questions for you ladies..
1. One thing you prefer about your home country to where you live now
2.One thing you prefer about where you live now to your home country

Mine are;
1.I prefer the variety of cultures in England, there is not a lot of mix here
2.I prefer the beaches here -they are amazing!

hi caz81, we're in muscat but used to live in salalah for 2 yrs. where do u live here in oman? yeah we're planning to move to the uae next yr. as we find oman very quiet.
answers to ur questions:
1. One thing you prefer about your home country to where you live now
-More social life and things to do and go. No stary people back home so I get more privacy.
2.One thing you prefer about where you live now to your home country
-Cheaper food and booze here.

Hi.

Can I join up!. From UK but now living in Frankfurt, Germany ?

My story...is long and boring

I met DH online in 2006 (he was 18 and I was 15)...we talked for a while...off and on...then in early 2009 he finally convinced me to come over to the US to meet him. I intended to stay for 6 days, but ended up quitting my job (which I LOVED :() getting engaged, married, applying for a Green Card in July 2009...got approved in September 2009 and also started TTC the same month...then got the Green Card through and my BFP on the same day (9th of October) :D Fun fun fun.

1. One thing you prefer about your home country to where you live now - My family and friends are there and it was easier to get around - eg going into town, going down to the pub etc etc. Also NHS!
2. One thing you prefer about where you live now to your home country - The climate, cheaper houses...DH is here?

xx

 I knew you were going to say Muscat, we are in Salalah  As you lived there for 2 years you know just how dull & horrible it is :( I was sooo hoping you were going to say salalah so i could have a friend!!

We were in Muscat a couple of weeks ago & there is soooo much more to do than Salalah!!

I know what you mean about Stary people!! We live near lulu centre in Salalah & Im the only white person in this area, when we first lived here the kids would follow me round the supermarket!

We are living in Saudi arabia, from Uk.
Miss my family and friends in Uk. miss not being able to drive myself anywhere and miss green trees!
Always sunny here!
