Will post in the other thread as well but figured might as well kick things off in this thread.

Charlie is getting the hiccups during every feed without fail and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to stop or prevent them as they tend to cause her to become distressed.

Nothing I have tried has worked.

Aria gets them a lot too, usually when it is bedtime lol. The only way I've found to stop them is to feed her, actually. I did read up a lot and they "claim" the baby doesn't care but they definitely kept her awake and it would drive me nuts because they lasted forever and she always looked so miserable. but if I nurse her then tend to go away pretty quickly. LOL. hth!!

reading these first two baby posts made me SO HAPPY! lol
cannot WAIT to be here with you ladies!!!!. I hope the girls are doing ok with their hiccups! my mum used to say it was growing. hehehe. cuties.

Had my first midwife at home visit and everything is going really well. They expect for the first week for bub to gain 100-200 grams and little Charlie has been feeding really well she has put on 350g this week. she is now the same weight as my son when he was born.

swan could you add: Meghan 7lb 4, born 23/1/12 due 24/1/12

(we decided to go for the Welsh speling of her name and middle name is still under debate, oh doesn't think she needs one)

We are doing well Meghan is nearly 4 days old now we're working hard at getting breastfeeding established but as she's jaundiced and quite sleepy, feeds are taking a long time and my boobs feel SO full! Im really lucky as the midwives on the labour ward were really helpful, I had a chat with a support worker on the ward and we've had 2 visits from a breast feeding supporter at home (who said hicups are due to stomach growing after a feed an are a good sign). Hoping to make it to the local suport group on Tuesday.

Midwife is visiting tomorrow and will weigh Meg for the first time since birth.

We've been swamped by visitors and tomorrow is the same but we're hoping for a visitor free day on Sunday so we can enjoy her all to ourselves!

Great news about Charlies weight
