Feeding schedule for 6 month old?

Hi all,

Have got a 6 month old daughter and I started weaning her when she was 18 weeks old.

Can not get in to a proper feeding routine and am not sure if to give bottle and food at the same time?

Could you please share your feeding schedules for ideas?

Hi hun. We started proper weaning at 6.5 months. When Omar was fully weaned & on 3 solids at 8 months he was on 3 bottles with his 3 solids. His routine has been the same since then: (Omar wakes up late at 11 am)

11:30 am breakfast after few sips of water
1:00-1:30 pm 5-6 oz bottle
4:00 pm lunch
6:00-6:30 pm bottle
9:00 pm dinner
10:30-11 pm bedtime bottle

Since we started weaning I always leave a gap of 1.5-2 hrs between milk feeds & solids. xx

Maya is on three meals and three bottles a day now. She gets up at 6am and has a 7oz bottle, then breakfast at 8am. 7oz bottle at 10.30ish, lunch around midday. Sometimes she has a little snack around 2.30-3pm after her nap, usually a piece of fruit and a yoghurt or something like that. Dinner between 4.30 and 5pm and bedtime bottle (9oz) at 6.30pm.

I'd say always offer a bottle before a meal and leave some time in between the two, at the moment milk is still more important than solid food. Hope that helps.

My son is 24 weeks old and this is how we go:

7oz Bottle 7.20am
Fruity porridge 9am
7oz bottle 11.00
Lunch (pureed veggies) & Fromaige Frais or fruit pudding & 4oz bottle 1.30 - 2pm
Dinner (more veggies or a Hipp organic jar 4.30pm
Bed time bottle 7oz 6pm

He still wakes in the night but I have reduced the size of his bottle from 7oz to 5 and hoping to cancel it out soon with a bit of luck. I'm more concerned about how much to feed him. At the moment he's getting 6 ice cubes of pureed veggies but his appetite seems to be increasing.
