Alex is now sleeping a good 8 hours every night and sometimes more - which is lovely - but I'm running out of time in the day to feed him. He normally feeds once every 4-5 hours during the day taking 6oz of formula. But as he sleeps for longer at night he's dropping one of his feeds so only getting 4 feeds in 24 hours - what happens when he goes for even longer, do I cut down the time between his daytime feeds?

I would think so.
Sorry I don't have better advice, just didn't want to read and run.

Do you not do a dreamfeed? My LO is on 5 feeds a day. She has a feed at bedtime (around 7pm) then another at around 11pm. Lots of babies can take this feed whilst asleep but I have to wake her up a bit to get her to take it. She then sleeps till about 7/7:30am. x

no, he feeds at 9 and then goes through til 5 sometimes 6 in the morning. I then aim to feed him every 4 hours during the day but he's sometimes not hungry for it and I end up waiting a while before feeding him

he seems perfectly happy and has put on over a pound in weight in the last two weeks so I don't think he's going short but just wondered how feeding worksas he starts sleeping more at night time?

I'm just going to say that I am extremely jealous that your little guy sleeps that long. Mine is 2 months and he still wakes up twice a night for a feed. How much does your little man weigh? Mine was tiny at birth and is playing catch up. He still only eats 4 ounces at a time.

Serens the exact same, She sleeps from about 9/10pm and sleeps for 12 hours.
So I have 12hrs in the day to feed her, she has 4 6oz bottles every, and that's a bottle every 3 hrs, she simply wont take anymore even if I do wake up earlier.
She is putting on weight and is healthy though, so I'd say as long as your lo is doing the same and he's satisfied then it should be fine, if you are worried though speak to the HV x

Liss has just started to sleep longer and skipping a night feed. I tend to give her an extra ounce on her last feed to keep her going. She skips a feed in the night now, which is good for her as she is a little on the chunky side lol

I feed Brooke every 3 hours during the day since she started sleeping through ...

She takes 6/7oz at 7,10,1,4,7 and i find that works just right for us as in when she likes to get up and when she likes to go to bed in the evenings :)

That way she gets almost 12 hours of sleep and isnt missing any feeds. Personally i would cut the times down during the day hun

Mine did the same thing when he started sleeping thru..

he has bottles at 7, 11, 4, 8 but takes 260mls each feed..

rhys is about 11 1/2 lb now he sleeps through 10pm till 6-7am everynight but do you know i have no idea how many bottles or oz he drinks at a time he is a bit of a snacker he drinks between 2-4oz in a bottle and probably 5 a day he goes about 3 hrs inbetween so i would say x4 6oz bottles is ok hun
does that all make sense
to be honest if he was hungry he'd cry for more he's drinking twice as much in a bottle than rhys, so comparing them with each other it sounds about right they all drink diff amounts at different times.
cant wait till next fri woo hoo

We always fed on demand, with nursing and formula, sometimes it was every 4hrs, other's all night between, others only 2hrs. I would really just follow his lead, if he's content with 4 feedings a day do that, he might up his amount of formula at a time, or might rearrange the times between to get another feed on there on his own if he needs it
