How many feeds should a 3 month old be having overnight?

Alex will take what hes offered, he will take two feeds if i give him two but he will also only take just one if thats all i offer him over night.
If he wakes the first time and i offer the dummy instead he goes back to sleep for another couple of hours.

He did start to sleep throgh himself to 2am and want fed then wake again at 8am, but recently with a routine change he woke twice again.
Im certain that if i just offered him the one feed he will hapily get used to it again but does he need a second feed overnight still or is he okay with just one?
Having the one feed a night gives him 5 feeds in 24 hours...

Hi my wee one is almost 7 weeks and often takes 2 but occasionally takes 1 but makes up for it during the day by wanting fed every 3 hours with his morning feeds. Hopefully by the time he is 3 months it will be down to 1.

Mine is on average having 6 feeds a day so by 3 months would think 5 is fine

When he has jsut one feed, he still continues to feed as normal during the day, so hes not making up for a "missed feed" so maybe he doesnt need it?

We had skipped one of the night feeds by then so wasn't having the 3am one, but was the 10pm one. She soon gave up the 10pm one too. I did notice though that she woke a few times in the middle of the night and i'd soothe her back to sleep or give her a bit of water, before I'd have jumped for a feed so glad I worked out it wasn't actually that she needed, just a bit of comfort. BUT all babies are different.

I would just let him wake you for feeds, and offer the dummy first to check he is actually hungry and not just waking out of habit.
As the poster above said, they are all different, but in one of my books it says if your baby is taking 900-1000ml of formula during the day they don't need a night feed (unless a growth spurt)
Ruby has not had a night feed since she was 5 weeks old.

Josh takes 6 feeds over 24 hours. He has his last one at 9pm, then wakes at 4am then 9am. He went through a stage of waking at 7am but he just wanted a dummy then went back to sleep.
