Hiya

Okay so I read in 3rd tri that come april 2012 the government are changing child tax credit and chilcare help for households on 25k or more. if I go back to work 27 hours over 3 days between us we will earn about 26.5k. After bills and childcare we will be left with about 80 pound a mnth for nappies and general things like clothes etc. Lord knows how we will manage if they take the 45 a mnth ctc off us AND the help towards childcare we would be in minus cash! I couldnt afford not to work but wouldnt be able to afford to work! i actually feel like crying! how soon will we be able to find out the exact changes?!

Xx

its stupid. im mega stressed about money too hun. At the moment we get nothing, when I go back to work I may get help towards child care but they couldnt give me a definitive answer, so basically I have no idea if we will be better off with me working or not...

It is proper bad!! I will be better off working which is okay by me as always worked (except for about 4 months when moved area) since leaving college in 2002 but if they make these changes then we are gonna be totally screwed in that we will be in minus cash if they dont help towards childcare :(

xx

i know! we wanna save for a deposit on a house but renting is so expensive and we have no money left at the end of the month. It will be about 10 years before we have the money to buy a house. and ill be 50 by the time we get married!! LOL (im 22 now)

Lol. We have a house and are married but seems like nowdays trying to better yourself you get screwed for it!!

xx

defo. we rent a 1 bed flat and LO wont have his own room for a long time :(
unless we win the lottery of course.

i live in a 1 bed flat with OH and 2 kids we cant afford anywere else and they seem to think that 16.5k is enough to support 4 people :-/
we don qualify for healthy start vouchers or free school meals as we earn 400 too much over the year itsmadness

That is rubbish!!! I think they should either scrap the healthy start vouchers or give them to wider range of families! My sister who is on benefits gets them, I would love some to help towards cost of fruit etc as I think it is expensive!!!! xx

^^ yep when we get a house we are going to grow all our own fruit and veg other half is very green fingered so hes gunna learn me how to tend the garden when we get one lol

They were talking about (on loose women a few days ago) putting a fat tax on unhealthy foods so people choose the healthy option. I think they should make healthy food cheaper (subsidised) than fast food and people would be more likely to choose it. Fruit&veg so expensive right now!

Yeah deffo, fruit & veg can be so expensive and I find the cheaper option say at asda is always battered, bruised and goes off so so fast!!!

xx

Tax credits confuse me so much.

Does anyone have a link that explains the changes in English? lol
