I'm taking my DD and her friend bowling this afternoon - got visions of my waters breaking all over the alley when I'm there alone with them haha!

No real signs here - just the usual aches and pains. Will be interested to see if I'm dilated at all at my appt tomorrow.

How on earth is it September already??? It doesn't feel all that long ago that I got my positive and was trying to figure out how I was going to tell my husband


Happy due date to those due today!


Sadly my midwife couldn't give me much info. Since I'm trying for vbac, it's completely up to the OB how long they'll let me go.

I'm allowed a sweep at 39 weeks. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, my next appointment isn't until my due date.

I'm going to call in a few hours to see if they'll allow me to make an appointment at the end of the week for a sweep only.

Then at my 40 week appt I'll ask for another, and then ask about an induction at 40+1 if it doesn't work (I'm allowed to go to 41, but I'm worried about baby being too big at 41 - bigger babies increase risk if rupture).

I'm just not sure if they'll do an appt just for a sweep though. Hopefully I'll know in a few hours.

BabyJane, I haven't heard back yet. I'm hoping they'll call in the morning. I'm guessing it may have been too busy today for her to get to it, but I'm hoping to have an answer tomorrow. I'd really love a sweep this week and one more chance at one next week. My guess is they won't work, but it'd be preferable to induction.

Hope everyone's ok! Anyone having any signs? I'm due on Friday...had 2 hours of contractions on Monday night but nothing since, though I've been really uncomfortable. Soooo glad I made it to September! Definitely ready for this baby to come out now.

Haha yep! And thankfully Madeline and her little friend won one game each so we avoided a civil war!

Been for my sweep this morning. Midwife said cervix had shortened to about 1cm, and she could easily get a fingertip in. Felt the head and bulging membranes! Said she could easily have broken my waters!! So basically anytime could be showtime! Equally, could be here next week haha. She made an appointment for a week tomorrow but doesn't expect to see me. Famous last words ha! She also said that if it came to induction I wouldn't need a pessary or anything, they would just break my waters, so that's made me feel so much better if that did happen.

Fingers crossed the sweep does something for you. Did you have one last time? I never had one last time as when I should if had one they realised I'd developed pre eclampsia so sent me up to be induced instead. I didn't need the pessary either and she just broke my waters straight away. I'm actually really nervous getting a sweep I don't know why. My appointment will be Monday which is my due date.

I had a sweep yesterday, 2cm! About 2 hours later I had a show and got really excited! Had some stronger BH through the night and lots of sharp cervix pains but then it all stopped? Hopefully will start back up again soon! I was convinced today was the day!

I had two last time, but the first one I definitely wasn't ready for, it was quite painful. I had the second one on the Saturday morning and waters broke on the Monday evening. Shame I won't get one sooner than next week this time but now I know I would only need waters breaking I'm not as worried about being induced. How was it for you? The sweep today didn't really hurt at all, slightly uncomfortable for a second but I didn't mind, wanted her to have a really good rummage ha!

How exciting all these sweeps today! Keep us updated everyone. I've been niggly since I had it, but got to take my DD to swimming lessons so gonna hold off on the ball until later!
