It's taken me ages to find the time to do this but on the plus side, I have loads more pictures now than I did 4 weeks ago when I meant to..
So on the 23rd January, I went into labour 2 weeks early. Waters went around 5:45am, got to hospital at 10:30, was internally examined at 1:30 and told I was 2cm and could feel the head nice and low. All looking good.
More waiting about and at 6:20, I was moved to the actual labour ward and examined again. She had a good rake about, which hurt a lot and then asked if we knew what we were having. So I replied, a boy, to which she said, "I know, I can feel his testicles."
So yeah, he'd been sitting breech for at least 2 months and no one noticed. I always had this really solid lumpy part of my bump just beneath my ribs which caused a lot of discomfort and everyone kept telling me, "That's his bottom."
Fast forward an hour and we were wheeled into theater, emergency section and little Ryan Robert was born at 20:06 weighing 8lbs 4oz, eyes wide open and ready to take in the world.
He's five whole weeks old now and it's gone WAY too quickly. Sleeping brilliantly, very alert, happy wee man. Bottle fed but after a hellish time on the breast, he was just too hungry and I couldn't keep up with him. He's pulling himself up now, following sounds and toys with his eyes and generally showing signs of being mummy's little genius. Not that I'm at all biased
