First appointment

Hi all,

I've just made an appointment with the midwife and she says she doesn't need to see me till 8 weeks which will be 27th Dec. I thought I'd have to go in sooner than that and I guess I'm a bit dissapointed. And apparently I don't need to see a doctor unless I have any problems. Thank goodness for the internet!

When did you all get your first appointment?

don't get one here until 12 weeks, such a long wait especially if you find your pregnant really early on!

Around here they don't see you until you are 10 weeks to do your booking in appointment....so 8 weeks is a good deal They like you to have missed 2 AF's before starting formalities ideally.

I suppose that makes sense really. I want to start telling people, I haven't even told my Mum yet, is it best to wait? It is very early days and anything could happen.

ive just been and got told them same and was shocked myself i must say. x

Not keen to book you in until the first scan, in this area, which is around 10/12 weeks.

I went in earlier, but I didn't know that at the time (I rarely have periods, I was told at one stage I was infertile!) The time will go quickly I'm sure, what with the run up to Christmas and stuff

I had my first appointment at 4 weeks but really all she did was go over the dos and don'ts of pregnancy with me, nothing to exciting. Also asked me if I wanted to do the downs syndrome test (DH and I refused that) and she sent me for bloodwork). We go back on the 12th of this month, I'll be 8 weeks along than and she said she'd do a pelvic, pap smear, etc.
