First birthday/christmas

Hi all,

I've just been looking for some good christmas and birthday pressies for Bethanie, but im finding it quite hard. Obviously I don't want to waste loads of money on stuff she won't really play with when I could save it for her instead.

I have this in mind for christmas:

I haven't even started thinking about her birthday (19th December).

Help please!

I got Charlie a push along trolley with bricks in it.......huge hit, I also got her a trike, but she was too tiny for it, and I got her a 'baby' which she loved. It was the Zapff one from 1yr. For christmas (2 months before) I got her a Lottie ladybird (similar to the catapillar) and she has only just started to like it, although its now waaaaaay to slow for her!
I got her lots of books, and small bits and bobs.

Thanks Hels, id like one of those brick things for Bethanie.. where can I get them from?? Mothercare?

I've also found these (probably won't be able to afford all this though lol, but we will see as we spoil her loads lol):

EDIT - Well; I added all those things up, and it came to £202.88! so I don't know if it's really worth spending that much on her when she is so young! think we will not bother with a few more of the expensive things such as the Bi-lingual learning table!

I got the trolley from ELC I think. I personally wouldnt spend that much!

Charlie liked all the basic stuff really, a drum from boots, the bricks, and I got her some stacking boxes that graduate in size, with numbers on, she loved them.

Id just keep it simple!

I wouldn't spend loads either hun, they don't know the differance

As for the mat, jack had it and was no good really and when he could totter on it it broke really quickly :(

Thanks girls,

Ok, i've got her presents down to this stuff:

Also considering these:

https://www.elc.co.uk/toy-34289?&parent_category_id=760

Got the price down to £162.91 LOL so not a major difference, but bearing in mind these are things for both birthday and christmas!

You think im still paying too much? ah I never knew a first christmas/bday could be so stressful lol. Worrying im buying her crap toys, I want things she will learn from etc!

trampoline, no point! esp not so young! so save urself £30 there!

LOL we were thinking that, ok knock off £30.. £132.91, which is not too bad I suppose.. we're headed in the right direction bearing in mind that a few weeks before xmas I will go mad lol.

You're right about the trampoline though Yvanne, I was thinking the same with the baby assault course too.. I said to my boyfriend "sod it, we'll just get a baby paddling pool and fill it with those balls".

why the robin hood? u can probs get tht cheaper elsewhere too :D, and does it have to be the catterpillar? i got chloe a zebra for £30 :D also callum a rocking horse for £30 :D

Well, I think we've seen Robin Hood in Tesco for about £10, so I will check that out too - (it doesn't have to be Robin Hood, im just starting her little Disney collection so im collecting my faves!)

I was going to get Bethanie a rocking horse, but I think the caterpillar is so adorable and colourful.. I think she'd really like it. Caterpillar is where I put my foot down lol, i've got my heart set on him!:cloud9::happydance:

Thanks for trying to save me some money though. :)

Shit yea I meant right LOL sorry.

Yep, my mums always saying that to me about my brother and I preferring the boxes at christmas..:hissy: so I think id much rather put some money in her CTF or towards something when she is older than a few toys that we will end up selling in a few months for £5 when shes bored of them.:dohh:

Ey, just noticed you work at Tesco too.. I love it there it's like a night out for us :p you can let me know about those Disney offers then. ;)

yea, i did that for callums bday (tho he still got spoilt!!!!) put some extra in his ctf

lol at tight

Sounds reasonable, but me and money have a problem! I need to be careful, everything seems to have come at once (birthdays, holiday etc):wacko:

We didn't get Jonny anything for his first birthday or Christmas but put money in the bank! He had so much from everyone else it was obscene! Will be tricky with Frankie as her bday is 28th December. Also Jonny will want to know why santa didn't bring her anything!
