first cycle actively trying (June 2015)

Hi Faye! Nice to e-meet you! I hope your journey is short and sweet, and as the others said, you're definitely in the right place.

And Gina, I definitely echo you on the rudeness of others boards. I was so shocked! But here everyone is just so lovely, almost like we know that we're all, you know, real people rather than just faceless, emotionless robots to whom we can be rude without blinking an eye :p Also, again, you're so full of info with the HSG dye helping fertility!

Les - Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Being sick during fertile window definitely sucks. Then again, there's that whole thing about helping implant by suppressing the immune system or something?

Wifey - I'm finding your journey very fascinating with how all the triggers and things work. Must be odd looking for a BFP --> BFN --> BFP or, ideally, just a rise rise rise! FX for you.

Gag - you definitely love that outlook. You should market and sell that outlook ;)

Can't remember what everyone else said, but a reunion would be so funny. It would be like internet dating but on steroids (well, without the pressure, of course!).

AFM, I have my doc appt in an hour. No idea what they will do. I heard that in Canada they don't tend to do betas or u/s early unless they have concerns, so she might just say come back at 12 weeks. I'm actually fine with not doing betas. I think it would stress me out.

I'm so excited to follow along on your journey. I guess I tend to stay on the positive side of things, or at least try to. I totally went through the mirena crash as I was very emotional and negative after the removal but I'm feeling so much better. It's amazing the things the mirena did to me..

Hope your appt went well, Jezika. Tell us all about it, love! Hope they did something, an appt to just say "see ya at 12 weeks" would be a bummer.

Re: Rude people on other forums: that makes me laugh. It totally defeats the purpose! I've never been on any others, I've actually barely seen any other than thebump.com - but hey, y'all found where you belong. <3

GaGrl, I'm in Ohio so east coast would be easier for me, but I'd just LOVE to visit Cali someday. Disneyland is yearning for me, I can feel it :winkwink: lol there's so much to do and see in Cali! And our weather sucks lol we could plan a July meet and it would snow. (not really, but I'm sure you get the humor! :p) I'd just be happy to meet everyone face to face.

Wifey- so true.. This past weekend made me miss Georgia

I bet! My sister lives in FL and I'm constantly begging DH to move there. He has very sensitive, severe asthma though so he thinks he won't be able to breathe down there lol nerdy boy problems. GA was beautiful though, I went to Savannah once - LOVED it!

i am all for a meet up ^^ met my DF over internet and it was the best thing ever ^^

wifey- Can't wait to see what will happen with those hpts :) hopefully they will just stay positive and then get darker ;) i still got everything crossed for you :)

Gina- i totally agree.. i tried a few irish ones too and uk one and omg they either totally ignore your comment or are super rude... The only ones that get love are the ones that have severe Infertility.. in my mind thats mean.. so i have to be infertil to fit in?? WTF? And then i just ended up on this thread first and really liked it.. i read all of it until i commented :) best thing i ever did :)

gag- Mirena sounds horrible.. That's not fun having to go through that.. my PMS symptoms totally changed after my IUD got taken out.. Suddenly had sore bbs and they are all veiny constantly now :( .. First time i was super sure i was pregnant but it was just my normal symptoms.

Jez- Hopefully they might do an U/s because the last one was a chemical? Got my fingers crossed you get good news. Everything still going well?

les- Sucks that you are sick around O time.. Especially with temping.. My stupid cold last time made me have a annovulatory cycle so i hope that doesnt happen to you.. FX everything goes well you don't miss O'ing. :) :dust:

AFM so AF is due on thursday and my temps dropped like crazy today.. but i was really cold in bed last night.. could that have something to do with it?
Not feeling any different then usual.. I was going to test this morning but with my temp so low i decided against it.. and i actually feel the same as the last few months so i don't think i am pregnant again. oh well.. maybe next cycle now that the thrush is gone. Oh and called my doc this morning and found out my blood results aren't done again.. they just got them on the 5th.. so now she said i should call again on Friday :( -.- so so annoying.. why can't she just tell me that it might take even longer then usual.. i waited forever last time.. Was hoping i would get some answers today... -.-

Anyhoo hope everyone had a good start into the week and let's hope the rest goes well :)

oh and i'd love to do the visit in Cali :) not much for the cold.. i live in it most of the time now so warm and sun would be ideal for me XD could use some vit D. ;)

Well it's sunny and pouring rain today! I love it!

It's funny we married at the end of April and my out of state family was so excited to come visit nicer weather. Well it rained that whole week before. Thankfully no rain on the day of the wedding though! Just cold winds. I thanked all my bridesmaidsicles for standing up there in their short dresses 😁. My family teased me to no end about it. I told them they brought the cold with them! It had been beautiful that whole month until they arrived 😆

Thanks Jez - Hopefully that whole immune system thing is true! Really hate being sick right now.

Gag, I totally read "the past weekend made me miss Georgia" as you were made to be Miss Georgia, like Miss America. I'm such a weirdo...

As for my appt, it was pretty anti-climactic. The doc seemed underwhelmed, which is fair enough as I am too, and gave me referrals for blood and urine tests, which I did later on today, a referral for a dating u/s for next Monday, by which time I will *hopefully* be 7 weeks, and asked me to think about whether I want a midwife or OB following me. I'm seeing her again in two weeks. I'm feeling okay atm, no worrying symptoms, just increasing amounts of nausea that's making everything seem disgusting.

I must admit, I was excited to come home from work today and read the posts of the day! What an amazing support community you have established for one another. I am so touched by how responsive and friendly every one is. Posted on some other forum before this and got NO response.

Wifey: Thanks for the welcome! Will be thinking about you during your TWW.

Jezika: Thanks for the welcome, too. :hi:

On my end, period is pretty much over and I started temping vaginally (per your recommendations!) this morning and am hoping to be consistent with it this cycle. Also trying to prepare myself for another crazy, anovulatory cycle (thanks Yaz :growlmad:).

Good luck with the new temping style Faye. Hopefully it goes better. Also, at the very least, it's great that your cycles are regular. I do think that's a positive thing. Is that your dog in your profile pic, btw? What's his/her name? He/she looks so contemplative!

Vel that could definitely affect your temps. Even something like sleeping with an extra blanket or something can change your temp. That's why they say not to pay attention to a specific temp, to just look at the overall trend. Really hope it was just a cold night! That's so annoying about your bloods. I hate when doctors drag there feet and don't communicate things with you. I've been lucky with that so far. Hope they get you results soon.

Les I was married in may and for weeks leading up to the wedding they said it was going to pour. I was so upset. The day before the big day it changed and it ended up being a gorgeous day. Oh and i have also heard lower immune system is good. I often wonder if I should stop taking my prenatal in the tww to help lower my immune system :haha:

Jez sorry your appointment wasn't too fun. But an appointment at 7 weeks is great! Hope you see the heartbeat! Nausea sucks but it's a good sign that things are progressing.

Faye I don't know what it is about this site, but it's definitely much nicer than any other one I've read. For temping I find setting an alarm way before I have to get up, temping and going back to sleep is the best way I find to temp at the same time every day. That way I don't wake up early. And if you do temp early or late I use whenmybaby.com to adjust my temp to what it should be. It's the most accurate temp adjuster I've found. I hope you O this cycle!

Afm we have dtd the last 3 nights. I believe I am O'ing today so I really hope we have a good chance and the hsg cleared things out. Oh and dh believes we call them DH meaning "d!ck head" :haha:

Jezika: Yes, that’s my bulldog! His name is Gus and he is quite the character. We absolutely love him but he’s definitely a handful. :dog: And have only had two cycles off of BCP, so hesitant to call them regular… But at least I was able to get my period on my own….

Gina: Thanks for the insight on temping. Cool to know there’s such thing as a “temp adjuster”— genius!

Also, slightly odd question but do you all have an BDing advice? I’m reading conflicting information on whether you need to lay in bed afterwards or not? And assuming I shouldn’t be showering afterwards? So much to learn!

Gina - the DH comment is hilarious!!! It's bad of me to say, but sometimes that can be true...

Faye - this is totally anecdotal, but both times I've gotten BFPs I've stayed in bed for 20-30 mins with my bum elevated. I then went and showered... I didn't want to have to, but I get UTIs all the time so have to stay clean. I heard having an orgasm also helps, so if you can time it well, that's great, otherwise you could sort it out afterwards with a toy ;) But these things may not be necessary. Oh, have you seen The Great Sperm Race on YouTube? Definitely look it up and watch it with DH if you've not seen it already. Super informative. There's also something in it about ejaculating better sperm when the man is super aroused.

Faye - The most reasonable advice I've seen admits that everything is set up to work just fine whether you get up or not, but staying horizontal 10-15 minutes after can't hurt. No need to do headstands or anything though! I always clean off after, so now I just stay in bed while DH cleans off first and then get up and take care of myself (I used to go first). After this morning I was so comfy and relaxed and still not feeling well so...I completely forgot! Hours later I jumped up and ran to the bathroom to clean off. Really hope I don't end up with a uti! 😬

Well we usually Bd at night because thats the only time we can do it with my son awake all day.. and i usually lay there until DF is cleaned off and then i go pee.. i always have to afterwards. I haven't gotten a IUD since i was a child but i did get a yeast infection this time around. :( Doc said we must've been Dtd'ing too much..

AFM got AF :( -.- oh well, i thought so with that temp drop but AF wasn't supposed to show up until way later.. Luteal phase was only 9 days. Found out as i put my temp in countdownpregnancy page that i must've ovulated on CD 17 which makes sense.. This cycle i am def going to temp at the right time and we'll be Bd'ing more again. :) Thrush is gone so we can go at it again :)

Gina- I totally agree about docs.. i hate when they take forever for stuff.. won't be getting those results until friday.. :(

Boo for AF Vel :nope: I bet next cycle will be much, much better. Your body should be getting on track now! I envy your short cycles though lol long ones are the worst. I hope temping really works out this cycle and clears up confusion too.

Gina, I thought of the alternate DH meaning and it's hilarious if you read through posts and use that instead!! And yes, Jez, sometimes maybe that is what we mean ;) lmao!

Faye, I agree with the girls - everything I've read said that it doesn't matter, however, I think it helps to stay laying down and prop up on a pillow for a bit after. I normally let DH go clean up, and he brings me a warm washcloth and a dry one; after about 20-30 mins I get up and properly clean off. The last thing you want though is a UTI so I'd at least clean up a little before actually getting up. You'll find what works best for you quickly!

AFM, 3DPO and trying to just relax. Very irritable and annoyed with everyone and everything today, although that's not really new for me lol I have many days like that. I have noticed some bb changes yesterday and today - very uncomfortable at work, couldn't wait to get home and take my bra off :haha: but not getting my hopes up yet. I know it's too early to even think of symptoms, but the bb sensitivity is def there. Other than that, still some light dull cramps. Tomorrow might be my last IC test until closer to the 24th; my positive was so very faint this morning I believe it will be gone by morning. Def going to get some FRER's for real-time testing lol these IC's never got dark after a 10,000 U hCG injection, so I think they're junk. I see FRER's can go for like $8/box on eBay, I think I'll go with that.

Hey ladies.. Quick update, went to the endocrinologist yesterday and she did some bloodwork.. Hopefully I'll get the results soon.

Just checking in... I don't post a lot but I read up on everyone so as always - keeping fingers crossed for us to see some more :bfp:!

wifey: I am so excited for you - fingers crossed that this cycle is it!!!!

I am currently 7 DPO - it appears like I ovulated (d/t temps & opks) but there was not a lot of CM or even as much change as last month. So I'm not quite sure. I am feeling a bit tired today & appear to be now coming down with a headcold or maybe just some allergies! Not to mention that my front teeth are super sensitive right now.... painful! Just lovely- not a fantastic week! Not feeling overly hopeful for this cycle... I've always wanted a December baby & l just have a gut feeling that it's not going to happen... Oh well... Trying to stay as positive as possible!

Gag - when do you get the blood test results? I hope you don't have to wait as long as some of us!

Kiki - don't give up hope. Time and again I hear people on here saying they got a BFP on the cycles they were sure of a BFN. When are you going to test?

Wifey - lol @ irritable being the usual you. Amen to that. I'm super irritable lately too, but worse than usual. The other day I went to drink from my coffee cup but realized for the second time that the coffee was all gone, and it took a lot of restraint not to throw the cup across the room. Can't wait for you to bust out the FRERs btw! I have a really good feeling.

Vel - sorry about AF, though it sounds like you're all set for a great upcoming cycle.

Les - are you feeling better?

And my goodness, it seems like a lot of us have suffered from UTIs. I have to say I was beginning to get really upset about having to repeatedly BD for TTC, because as some of you remember I get to the point of peeing blood really easily, even when I follow a strict hygiene protocol. I feel bad that we haven't BDd since ovulation time
