Hey All!

This is my first time EVER writing on a forum... I hope I'm doing it right?!

In July 2015 I finished out my pills and we started TTC (still learning the lingo). We had sex for 4 days surrounding my positive ovulation test. My projected period starts in 8 days... it's been feeling like ETERNITY; can I consider that date reliable? I've been on the pill for 8 years but do I now revert back to my cycle from before the pill, or will I still be on 28-29 days (like I was during the pill)?

I'm just scared to rely too much on my projected dates because I want to limit the disappointment as much as possible.

Hope this makes sense... please help!

I recently came off the combined pill and my first cycle was the same length as before the pill. I'm about halfway through the second one now but seems like it will be the same length

I came off the pill beginning of July as well, I had a withdrawal bleed a few days after but nothing since! From what I've read everyone's different though

Normally you should ovulate 14 days before your next period. Some women can be as short at 10 days but you rarely see it longer then 16 days. You CAN skip a period because your body is confused though. Being on the pill so long it does happen where some women won't have a period but the next one is right on target. Usually though that missed period comes with missed ovulation.

Hope that isn't too confusing!

I did use an ovulation kit this month and got a positive - yay! Hopefully that means I'll conceive regardless of when my period arrives. I'm just trying to withstand the next 7 days!!
