First time mommies!

Hi carebear! Congrats to you too!
I was so impatient about finding out the sex that I found out at like 14 ish weeks via blood test. Lol.

I was just at old navy but they didn't seem to have much of a selection besides a couple of dresses :/

Macydarling, how did you find out by blood test?! It's that something you have to do out of pocket?

It's a new genetic test they have that also tells you the sex. Our insurance actually covered all of it! I believe they can do the test starting at just 10 weeks! My midwife says the way it works is your baby's DNA is in your blood. It was quite accurate for me as well, we confirmed it was a boy at our anatomy scan :) You should definitely look into it and seeing if your insurance covers it if you're impatient to find out like me!

Wow! I am definitely going to look into that! My sister said she had that done this pregnancy but i didn't believe her because I'd never heard of it! I guess its a real thing. I'll be 10 weeks Saturday! Maybe I'll ask my doctor about it at my appointment next Monday :D

:haha: yep, I think it's pretty new! That's so exciting, I hope you can get it done too!

Me too. I'm completely out of my normal clothes. I had a mini-maternity shopping spree last weekend. Old navy had some cute stuff :)
My mom bought a bunch of gender neutral stuff. She couldn't wait the month till I find out :haha:
Just one more month... hopefully it goes by fast, I'm dying to know what I'm having!!

Hi all. Yes. I've heard about that test but I never checked my insurance. My cousin got it done though and found out the gender at 11 weeks or so. I find out next Tuesday hopefully!!! Still praying for a boy even though the deed is already done. Hahahaha. I'll update you guys. Hope all is well! :)

Oh yes! Keep us updated!!

Tcinks - that sux old navy didn't have anything good! My store was pretty well stocked, for old navy I guess. Nothing compared to a maternity store, but a good selection

nmpjcp2015, did you find out today?!

I had my ten week appointment yesterday, all looked great! :) We got another peek at baby, actually looks like a baby and not a dot on a screen! :) I have another appointment next Monday with the high risk specialist.

How's everyone else doing?

Everything is ok. They made my edd Oct 1 instead of Oct 3 like I thought. We did blood tests on my and chromosomal tests on the baby today so I'm nervous about those. But I feel fine and everything measured fine. The hr was 155.

At one point s/he was swallowing and touching his/her face. So cute. And gross. Then was bouncing and waved.

The baby was stubborn! Sitting on its knees so we couldn't see. Next try is on may 13 at the 3d anatomy scan. :-( I'm on my phone so I'll post a picture later.

All tests results came back normal/negative. Praise God!! :)

Hey guys, just checking in. I've been gone to California, but now I'm back at work (so much fun right?).

AFM - nothing really new. I'm just getting bigger and more achy everyday. Haha. I've started exercising again which is really helping. Anatomy scan on Wednesday afternoon. I'm excited to see the little baby again. We still haven't solidified a name. Hopefully knowing the sex will help.

How's everyone doing?

Doing ok here. Found out last monday we are team :blue:!! We had our gender reveal for the grandparents this weekend who are soooo excited! Also my little guy has graduated from flutters to full on kicks. So cool :cloud9:
My ankles keep swelling though, due to the humidity I think. I have my first OB appointment today so I'm going to ask about it.

Congrats on team blue! I hope you find some answers at your appointment this afternoon. I've heard swelling can be pretty common during this stage of pregnancy and beyond.

Do the kicks hurt yet?

My appointment went great! Love my OB. She's super nice and actually listened to me. I've been only seeing my GP until now. She had a listen to the heart and it was 148 bpm. (2 weeks ago it was 158 but she says it changes all the time depending on his activity).
Yep, the swelling is very common and I shouldn't be worried. It's going to happen. It didn't help that I fractured my foot just before getting pregnant so it may cause more pain then normal in my foot (loose ligaments that haven't quite healed).
I get to see my little guy again too since it seems he was asleep for the last ultrasound so the technician couldn't get proper heart measurements. Pretty happy about that :haha: cuz I wouldn't get to see him again if he hadn't been so lazy!
No kicks have hurt yet. Just tiny thumps :)

Hope your scan goes well on Wednesday and you get your name sorted!

I am all about that blood test. I had the Panorama at week 12 (insurance probably won't cover it, but the lab is super nice about dropping the price down if you have to pay out of pocket) and learned that baby came back all normal for all of the trisomies, gene deletions, etc., AND I learned the gender (boy!) They had the results back to me in less than 10 days.

Dill that's awesome. I'll definitely be doing that if we decide to have another! A close friend and also my cousin did that. They've known since 10 weeks. Oh well. Only one more day! Congrats on team blue! I hope to be joining you!

Thanks for the support carebear :) Sounds like your little boy marches to his own little drum. How cute.

I was so freakishly terrified that something might be wrong with the baby that I pushed hard for the test. It wasn't considered medically necessary because there's not much of a family history of those sorts of problems, and I'm not over 35. Fffff. So I'll probably be stuck negotiating the payment price with Natera, but they're really nice, so I guess that's okay. :) Insurance wouldn't cover much of it even if they did decide it was needed.

So glad to see everyone is doing well! :)

Had my 14 week scan yesterday and all was great! Its one week past my miscarriage date so I'm feeling really good about that. :) can't wait to find out the gender, about another month!
