five year old missing!!

It annoys me to when the media do that too. Or happens to say something as well as saying other things and that one phrase is quoted to their advantage.

I find it weird we didn't hear about the cp before. Things like that are normally mentioned pretty quickly in these cases.

ETA I don't mean mentioned because it matters in this situation I just mean the way the media are acting on it now I'm surprised they didn't do that two days ago.

I've just read that April having CP is untrue.

Mumj we did, her godmum said right near the start I thought.

Weird that the godmum would lie Lina.

Oh, its astonishing that the press can report things they don't know 100% are true.

Hugs foo. A not of the reporting isn't being sensitively and I guess in this case it's more about how they are portraying CP to the general public who quite often no little to nothing about it. I imagine the media are frustrating you because they may be strengthening stereotypes that just arent true?

Hit the nail on the head there Tasha. It's all about reinforcing stereotypes and it drives me insane.

I just read the sky report of what her godmother said, and was confused about why she would need daily medication for the pain, as that's just not something that is necessary. And that she had been in hospital for the condition a few times - again that confused me as it's not something you would be hospitalised for, except for routine treatment. When I read further I realised she was talking about the fact April has IBS. Now THAT is a condition which is far more likely to be very painful and cause more of a problem in her life, but the two are not generally linked. And why isn't that being reported on the news ticker?

It is weird, I read this on the group being said by April's cousin. I think the media should slow down now.

Exactly. I have no idea when the information was given to the press, but why is it being splashed right now? It seems more to do with journo's trying to find another angle so they can fill 24 hr news channels than being at all relevant to her disappearance.

Yes she briefly mentioned the CP saying she was born with it and sometimes her kegs give way. Then went onto talk about the ibs and pain meds she needs. The media being the media have mixed up the twotnothings days after both were first mentioned, most likely because there hadn't been any new news for a while.

Sorry for the typos on my phone plus tired.

The cp and Ibs info was said about 15 hours or so after April was abducted

And yet it appears on news tickers only now?

As I thought from the pictures, the CP only affects her hands. Quote from her grandfather;

"Mr Moon said that April had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but added: ‘She’s been coping fine with it, she has a few problems, you can see from the pictures she has a few problems with her hands, but she is like a normal five-year-old."

Yep. I can't be sure it was exactly 15 hours but certainly well within the first twenty-four. I think it is cos there is no news Sotheby are highlighting this to keep it in the spotlight.

Her god mum definitely said about her legs giving way.

Still no news of her sadly, first thing i did this morning was check holding my breath feel really sad.

I had awful night, I've been up for the past couple of hours. I very rarely co-sleep but I've brought summer in bed the past couple days. I sincerely hope she is found today safe and well.

So sad to wake up to no news this morning. Today will be another day of media hyperbole then I suppose.

:( I dont want this to go on any longer she NEEDS to be home with her parents, her parents must be past dispair I cant imagine the place there in right now i just want to give her poor mum a cuddle. This has touched so many people shes such a beautiful sweetheart how can anyone take her and put her through this (I would say especially some one with kids of there own but it looks as though he isnt much of a stick around dad from what i see)
