five year old missing!!

Thank you :(

Where are they digging up paving stones?

I saw this on sky news, they weren't digging up as such just lifting up and looking underneath. Lifting up with their hands, doing a really through search around all the properties near his house.

Thank you :(

Where are they digging up paving stones?

AT the house of the man held in suspicion of taking her. Saying that seeming according to this thread they were taking down the doors of where he lived although i didnt read that in the news only on here.

Surely he just cannot be released into the community though. There must be so much hatred for him (even if he is innocent) how can he live now? He will get killed. Will he get put in a safe house or something??
The police MUST have something on him surely to have released his picture etc... But then again all the locals named him anyway.

Oh what a mess!!

Redhead, thanks for your posts so far, can I just ask what happens at 5pm tomorrow, would they need to 'find' something 'new' for him to be questioned longer or if they go to ask for an extension tomorrow with the same info as they had today, is it likely to be denied?

It genuinely scares me the number of people who think he must be guilty and threaten violence etc because he has been named. If he is released & she is still missing or god forbid found dead, he will be in serious danger....

5pm on Friday is, as I understand it, around 73 hours or so since arrest, so an application could be made to take this to the maximum of 96 hours.

However, the Police will have to have a good reason for the continued detention.. it is likely to be along the lines of forensic evidence being gathered... if they go with the same explanation as before and are no further in their investigation the judge would probably and rightly be critical, you cannot simply hold someone in the hope that you'll get the evidence you want/need... in my opinion however, they are likely to be granted the time if for the only reason that for now he is safer in custody than not.

How they deal with the situation if it gets to the 96 hour mark without sufficient evidence to charge will be interesting, as, as you say, he'll be in serious danger. Unfortunately, the presumption of innocence can be a difficult concept for people to grasp at times - especially when such emotive subjects are involved.

I don't know how true this is and i dont know whether I should of shared it here or not, but a facebook friend had commented on someones status on facebook which read "have just seen this on another website, and thought that people should see it;One of my best friends children were out playing on Sunday at 4pm in Minera, North Wales approximately an hour away from Mach, when they were approached by a blue left hand drive landrover discovery with a man AND a woman and asked if they wanted a lift as it was raining. The children who are 11 and 7 said no and the woman then got of the car and opened the back door and told them to get in. They hurried away. North Wales police were useless and did not take this seriously but the Dyfed Powys Incident room were fabulous and my friend's children are likely now to be interviewed."

I just want to say, without saying anything towards this guy's innocence or guilt, having spent time in national parks with wet weather and mountainous terrain (Snowdonia and Lakes being the main 2), most that live there do dress for the weather. You know, when its raining, will usually have proper waterproof walking boots, waterproof layers etc. Also with the fact he has interest in guns (someone linked to his FB ages back and his pro pic was him looking down the barrel) and is alleged to have been a soldier (could have just been TA even), it would not be seemingly out of character for him to own and wear camo clothes.

I admit that when I first heard them say what he was found dressed that way I was alarmed. Very alarmed. But putting a sensible head on it, looking at the profile we've been able to build from what's been shared and the fact he lived in a terrain where he would NEED waterproof clothing... It's actually pretty reasonable that he could have just been wearing that anyway. Hope that makes sense?

I dont think they would have been allowed a extension without knowing something that made him a strong suspect though

I don't know for sure - redhead can you shed any light on this?

They will certainly have had to have grounds for the extension, they cannot simply turn up and say "we know he's done it, we just don't have any evidence". At the granting of the original extension it will probably have been enough to say that there were credible lines of enquiry that they still needed to put to the suspect and further avenues they wanted to explore.

Like I said, I'm not sure how true it is, if it is. I don't even know what website, but I don't know why someone would make something like that up?

This is very scary! Lets hope they are looking into it! Thank god they didn't get in the car.

If it is true then maybe there is a woman involved and she is keeping April somewhere safe and warm.

I read that earlier too. Could be true but could be some weirdo getting a kick out of making a fuss, you just don't know with the internet :/ I'm sure the police looked into it seriously though x

I heard that Bridger is known to the family as he used to live next door to them x

They live in the same small village and Bridger has had kids with at least 3 woman there allegedly. Going on that, he liked to get around. In a small village most people know or know of everyone else, even if they never speak or have contact. I don't think the fact this is known to them is a big deal as such. Ony in the sense that this guy was a local, he was known. Not an opportunist stranger so to speak. Xx

I'm not saying its untrue, and its useful hat you posted, but I just wanted to add that when we were at this stage with the Sian search there we suddenly SOOO many FB messages and rumours about attempted snatching and young women being approached etc. The police confirmed all a rumours. Some people do just say things for the drama and the lulz. If it is true, I hope it helps with the investigation xx

I prefer to hope for this rather than the alternative, but I just keep thinking of how difficult it would be to keep a 5 year old away from her family, without medication so most likely in pain.....she'd be so scared & terrified, as the days pass it seems increasingly unlikely. But no one knows, lets just hope.

Kitty, irrelevant really because people can just like camo clothes or they might find it more suitable etc, but just wanted to point out that spokesman for the MOD said he has never been in the armed forces

No beth, I dont. It feels very different to me.

Can someone clear this up for me - did the 7 year old say April got into Mark Bridgers car or did she just describe the car? Or don't we know?
