five year old missing!!

Oh and im not trying to scaremonger anybody. Its just my own personal opinion and feelings, as stuff like this, robberys etc scare me constantly. Im one of those people who check doors 3 times before going to bed. And dont very often go out on my own. I recently allowed my eldest to walk from school on his own, this was a big step for me. But now due to aprils case have stopped letting him. X

:hugs: how old is he?

Kath, feel very similar but still a tiny bit of me cant help but cling onto hope that they're wrong.

Welshcowgirl, I suffer from anxiety too, so get where you're coming from. Robbery and stuff, you hear of copycat things, but these are very simple crimes. The sort of crime we are talking about here, you have to have serious pyschological issues (IMO), a motive and so on, therefore a copycat style thing is much less likely. Especially as we are unlikely to find out exactly what happened and why until a trial (so usually over a year away), if ever. Therefore they wont even have anything to copy as they wont know what has happened.

Will the trial take that long?
I can't remember the time scales but the Ian Huntley case seemed to happen quite quickly after the murders.. Might be wrong though!

August 2002 he did it, convicted in December 2003 x

I no longer believe she is still with us either sadly i never wanted to believe this, I really cannot phatom the reason why he has done whatever he has done to her all i can think is that he has had some kind of breakdown it really hurts that such a beautiful small vulnerable child who completely trusted him and was probably happy to get into his car and he has done this how can he how can anyone with a heart do this somethings in life are just unexplainable.

That ian Huntley was horrible, anyone remember his sky news interview

Plus are there any updates on the case yet?

Wow! Ok thanks, I'm just sad for everyone that's it's going to be so long before everyone really knows what happened!

Will family and friends know? Or will they be kept in the dark until the trial too?

I agree, you try your hardest to not give up hope but even if she is out there the weather doesn't seem to nice and I hope she is somewhere safe :(
I can't even begin to imagine what her family must be going through right now
And will never understand the reason behind this

Yes I remember it well. I was at college studying child care so we followed it closely on one of our courses. It effected me badly (and i didnt have a child then) and I think that's why maybe I am as I am now. Each time I can't tear myself away get involved emotionally, think it over and over in my head.

I don't know if I'm being totally irrational but at times like this I'm glad ive got a boy. Silly as I know boys get abducted too (look at James bulger) but I dunno I would be SO scared with a little girl :nope:

I imagine close family (parents, grandparents and her old sister) will no the basic details but not every detail.

I'm really dreading this press conference :nope:

Still hoping though and keeping everything crossed

There's a press conference in 5 - 10 minutes, but no news yet xx

No news yet hun. The news conference is due around 3pm but they say anything up until 5.30pm due to time contraints.

I wouldn't be surprised if they wait until they're out of time before making a news conference :(

Its worries me how close to the 5pm deadline for holding Bridger before charging/releasing without charge they are getting. Hope it doesn't mean they have to release him (because then either a) they have the wrong person or b) they had the wrong person but not enough evidence to charge) x

Why have they only got 24 hours to charge or release him?
Sorry I think I missed out on this
