I know as outsiders it seems the police don't know much, but there are strong limits on what they can and cannot say before it goes to trial. Remember that members of the jury are made up of memos of the general public. If you were called for jury service but had followed the case closely and knew the police had already said about all the damning evidence they had, your mind would be made up before you went to court which would be unfair. Vile murderer or not, people are all entitled to a fair trial and that includes hearing the defence side too. Not just making your mind up in advance from a one sided story.
For all we know they could have found his house to be a clear murder scene. Blood splatted walls and weapons etc. Bits or her clothing and forensics linking what they find to her. He could have been the first suspect because the family argued and perhaps he made a threat... Or there was a relationship gone sour etc. My point is, until it goes to trial we just will not know what evidence they have, but they MUST have something pretty damning to have rearrested him for murder. Also a detective said in an interview that he felt it was important to do so to be honest with the community about what they were looking for. That says a lot about how sure they are she is no longer alive.
That said, police do make mistakes. He could be innocent, they could be wrong. I guess we'll know soon as they HAVE to release or charge him today.
I've also been reading that the reason for the new arrest was due to forensic evidence found in MB's house which not only linked him to April but also proved she was not alive. Obviously take that as you will but it does seem odd he was re-arrested less than a day after forensics were seen leaving his home They also "fast-tracked" forensics, so it doesn't seem so far-fetched.

Jem, can you explain?? I think I have missed something here! Re-arrest? Had they let him go at some point then?
Just seemed to disappear after all the outrage about telling that woman the bad news live on air.

My heart goes out to her family as what I feel will be noting in comparrison. So damn hideous. Awful. Actually, I am angry. This should not be the way of the world.
