When did you start giving LO meat? And when did they start eating 3 meals a da? DS is 8 months..on two meals a day and we have not started meat.

6 months when we started weaning.

Generally mine are on 3 meals straight away

Nathan started with meat at 5 and a half months. At first he was on 2 meals a day (the small jars), but we increased him to 3 a day when he turned 7 months old. He's now on 3 large jars a day (though he normally eats all his breakfast, and then about 3/4 of his lunch jar and 3/4 of his dinner jar). He'll be 8 months old tomorrow.

BLW so no jars here. Started at 23 weeks and a few days. He has had ham, minced steak and chicken strips. I'm limiting ham due to salt content but other than avoiding dairy he has normal food. Still on one meal a day though. I do 1 meal 3 weeks, 2 meals 3 weeks then move onto 3 meals.

We were probably doing 3 meals a day by 7.5 months or so. We started lunch at 6 months and were usually doing 2 meals a day by 7 months and I'm pretty sure we managed to get in 3 meals by about 7.5. We started meat within about 1-2 weeks of starting, so I guess by 6.5 months? I don't eat meat and I don't know how to cook it, so my daughter still only has meat maybe once or twice a week at home, but most days for lunch at nursery. It just depends on when my husband has time to cook it for himself and her (we eat vegetarian meals about half the time and he cooks meat separately about half the time). My daughter also has fish about once a week or so too, but she's never really liked it, though we keep trying! Baked or panfried fish is great, as is strips of roasted chicken. My daughter loves roast chicken and it's surprisingly easy for them to eat. One of my fallbacks is beef ravioli or tortelloni. I buy the really good fresh pasta from the store and freeze it (uncooked) in little bags of about 10 pieces each. Then I can pull them out of the freezer as needed and they cook in about 3-4 minutes. Really easy, my daughter loves them, and it's a handy thing for me because the filling is already cooked and I'm nervous about cooking raw meat properly.
