Happy Hump Day!

Laura ~ :hugs: to Simon! Hoping this time passes smoothly for you!

Amy ~ Hoping over to your journal in a second.

 Bethany & Jessica!

Just playing the single mom card over here...it's a lot easier now that Pierce is older. It's nice that I have someone come help me a couple days a week so I can have ME time (even if it's just a trip to Whole Foods ALONE!). Today's me time was a trip to the dermatologist...what I thought would be a chemical peel consult turned into a biopsy of a dry spot I've had nea my nose for quite some time *whomp whomp* I'm sure it's nothing to fuss over and chemical peels are better suited for winter months a anyway (stay out of the sun!).

Anywho, hope this find you all well xoxo

Good morning ladies!

Angel, did they say they were going to test the skin that they removed or were they not too worried about it? Sorry you didnt get to do your chemical peel consult but you are right... it'll be better to do during the winter anyway. :)

Laura, How's Simon doing? Hope he is still doing well with the weaning!

Bethany, Forgive me... did you move already? If so I hope that you are settling in ok. If not, when are you planning on moving back home?

Jess, how are you and the girls doing?

Leslie, hope you and your girls are doing well!

Happy almost Friday!

Amy ~ They numbed the spot, and took a sliver to send off for testing. They suspect basal cell carcinoma. Now I am NOT a vain person, but dang, does it have to be on my face? ughh!

Meanwhiile, not to make this the Angel Show, but I called a psychic. One of my dear friends in MN (lives near our cabin up there), met a local psychic. They became fast friends and she recommended her to me. I've a super curious personality so I set up a phone reading. I asked her about the dry spot on my face and she said it isn't anything. She said I won't require surgery to have it removed OR chemo creams...guess we will know in the next couple of weeks if she is worth the buck. Interestingly she asked about my Mom. "Is your Mom better? I see static around her brain." I was shocked, the day before my Mom had an MRI done and the Dr suspects she has been having pin strokes! She has a neuro appt on the 4th (Pierce's birthday). I sure hope this psychic is right and we are all clear! We talked about my boys and DH's future ~~ almost therapeutic talking with her! Her guides told me that I needed to do a sage smudge to clear negativity from my home (I'm YouTubing it) and to burn white candles for +ve energy <~~Alrighty

Oops, I'm rambling. Love to the littles and the tiny Amy-bean!

Sorry I read the other day but my phone dud the freezy, not letting me type thing

Angel, hoping that the dry spot on your face is just that, a dry spot. Good thing your dermatologist noticed it. As for the psychic, I have never been to one. But how interesting that she seemed to know about your mothers neurological issues. I am sure u were shocked and surprised when she asked about the static around your moms brain, would have given me goose bumps. How is Pierce doing? Throwing any tantrums lately? Hehe. I can't believe he is turning 2 so soon. How is he eating? Has he started getting picky at all or still has a good appetite?

Laura, so sorry the seizures keep coming. I wish there would be a medicine that could stop them all together or even cure Simon of his epilepsy. And late teething sure does suck. It seems like they suffer longer because the teeth take so darn long to come out. How many teeth does he have all together now? And he has 4 more to go? Poor boy! Sophie is in the same boat with the teeth. She takes months just to cut a molar. Her upper right gum was raw and a tiny part of her tooth was poking through around 2 months ago. 2 days ago I checked it while she was asleep and still only a tiny part of the tooth was poking through. So each molar has been taking several months to cut through the gum. This NEVER happened with my other 2 girls so I don't get why Sophia has suffered so much with teething. Its so weird because everything else about her has grown well above average even her feet, but her teeth have taken so so long to come out. :nope: Sorry to ramble. Oh and congrats to your nephew getting married in Italy, sounds so romantic and beautiful. :cloud9:

Life has been really busy here. The girls have summer vacation. Natalie and Aly have been fighting every day. Its been so so stressful. Natalie even bullies me to get her way :nope:. She cries non stop at times and I just can't seem to get control over all of this. If I take her to a therapist the first thing they want to do is medicate her. But the medicine barely helps her and has caused excessive weight gain. She use to be a thin child and within 6 months of taking her medicine she gained 10 lbs!!! That is a lot of weight for a small child to gain. This was 4 years ago and last year we started her on the medicine in hopes that she wouldn't gain weight again and this time within 2 months she gained about 10 lbs again. So my once thin child has been struggling with weight gain for the last 4 years and it seems like this stuff has caused her to have permanent weight issues and slow metabolism even though she no longer takes them. The meds also caused her to have an abnormal level of lactic acid in her blood. That was one of the main reasons we stopped medicating her along with her weight gain. She does not look very overweight but she does look "chubby". Of course I would never dream of telling her that.

And guess what Sophia has learned?? To hit and now punch. She bullies Natalie and goes around smacking her and I try and discipline Sophia and explain why its wrong with her limited vocabulary but Sophia acts like its a game. But interestingly she only really does it to Natalie. Can u imagine at 2 years old and doing this? I am sure she has learned this behavior by watching Natalie bully Aly. I always feared this would happen if we didn't get Natalie's behavior under control. :nope:. Great Sophia is now yanking Natalie's hair. Gotta go ladies. Miss u all. Sorry for all the rambling.

Hope u all have a great weekend! :hugs:

Jess my mom said when kids get teeth older,
Its harder cos their gums are harder to cut
Take s yonks to get a tooth too
he has 8 on top, 6 and,a half on bottom :-D
I'm counting the half as got cos once cut its a bit, easier

Simon has started slapping and kicking in anger too
He has never seen anyone do it
I'm blaming teething pain and terrible twos

Hugs to u and Natalie xxx
Hope things improve for ye
Its horrible to see ur child suffering and feel helpless
Gisnt hugs xxx

As for us, I'm hopefull that lamictal might work still
We hve put months into getting on it so hoping it's not waste
Mouse is conked after being up last night but Il hve to wake him for med
Doh

Love to all xxx

Makes perfect sense what your mom says about teething..thx. Sophie has 5 teeth on top and 6 on the bottom. Her gums are pretty irritated and swollen right now. Poor babies, they can't catch a break from teething. Also I think the terrible twos have a lot to do with Sophie's temperament (I hope). I have some hidden fears because of Natalie's mental health issues. But so far I don't see any of that in Sophie, but she sure does have a temper!

Oh I forgot to mention, Sophie changed overnight and is non-affectionate. She now likes to cuddle, kiss and hug. My mom kept telling me to give her time, that some babies are late bloomers when it comes to affection and she was right. I was secretly scared she would end up non affectionate the way dh is. My mom kept telling me that for some children, affection doesn't come as naturally and that you can teach them or show them just by loving them unconditionally and sneaking in those hugs and kisses. I do realize that some people just aren't very affectionate, but thank God Sophia is much more affectionate and cuddly now. I was suffering when she would reject me.

Laura ~ It does make total sense that gums would be tougher since older babes are on solids. I love Simon's grandma's wisdom! Hurry up teeth, Mama needs her sleep! ~~ How much longer before he can start lamictol?

Jess ~ Pierce def has his ups and downs! He threw a tantrum yesterday because I peeled his banana all the way :dohh: I'm sorry this summer has been tough on you...any summer camps the girls can go to? Sounds like Soph is giving Natalie a run for her money ;) I know it's stressful, but a houseful sounds dreamy! Super super happy SoSo is giving you cuddles!!!

Amy

Oh my so much going on!!

Laura I'm so sorry to hear that Simon has been having episodes :( I know you have been working hard on getting him weaned to start new Meds right? Have you started those new Meds or did I get that wrong? So sorry if I did. Either way I'm praying the new treatment works. Just a thought but do you think the new teeth coming in could be partially responsible for some of the episodes?

Angel, very interesting about the psychic. I'm sorry to hear about your mom Hun. What caused them to want to do an MRI? I hope the psychic is right and that all is well.

Jess, I'm sorry about the girls fighting but I was so happy to read that Sophia has become affectionate. I know how worried you were about that so I was so happy to read that. I hear you regarding taking Natalie to the dr. Seems like Drs are so quick to just prescribe something vs alternative treatments. I forget but has she gone to a child psychologist? I think you said you have but forgive my memory. Do you think it would benefit her to continue to talk to someone? I'm sorry you are having to deal with that stress. :(

Bethany & Leslie

So sorry about you oh's granddad. He sounds like he was an amazing man. I know you and your oh will keep his memory alive as Simon grows. :hugs:

Laura, I am so sorry for y'all's loss. Grandpas are the very best.

Ladies, sorry that I haven't been on but we moved and I only just got internet today! I will probably be on more next week- we still need to go back to our old place this weekend and get things ready and turn in our keys :)

Laura ~ Sorry about OH's Granddad. How amazing that he got to at least meet his great grandson :). Hope the initial raise in lamictal is doing Simon some good (or at least I think you got to raise it Wednesday, sorry if I misunderstood).

Bethany ~ Yay for moving! I hope this puts a little skip back in your step :flow:

 ladies!

Oh my so much going on!!

Angel, very interesting about the psychic. I'm sorry to hear about your mom Hun. What caused them to want to do an MRI? I hope the psychic is right and that all is well.

Why the MRI: in a nutshell to err on the side of caution.
My sis took my parents on a cruise, their last night on the boat my sister noticed my Mom's pupils were uneven (one tiny, one huge) in indoor lighting. Freaked her out since that's never a good sign, Mom wasn't having any other symptoms. Back home the Dr said it was the patch she had on for sea sickness, but to be safe he sent her for an MRI. Good thing too! Though a family friend read the MRI and said the pin strokes look old, so that's good. Neuro is the 4th!

Ok, off to the aquarium! And to get band aids, Pierce is obsessed with covering boo boos! Oh and he is back to wanting me to peel his bananas! Two year olds have the wildest swings...mini bipolar tots :haha: Still just adore him, even with horns :muaha:
