But dud ye see Jen is expecting sibling for zoe
On Facebook :-D

Leslie hey if ur still here Xx

Laura, it has been so long since I cooked tortellini that I forgot how she loves it!
And Simon has good taste!
Haha I love finding out the likes and dislikes of these kids. Lorelei loves tofu but hates meat. She will eat broccoli but only raw. But cauliflower never. I don't get it :D

Yes I am so happy for Jen!

Day 5 of the great nap strike. This is killing me.

Congrats to Jen! :flower:

Girls, it has been a real struggle to get Sophia to eat. I can get her to try different tastes and textures but she constantly spits the food out. She is extremely extremely picky, almost likes nothing. She isn't even crazy about sweets. At first I thought it was teething but I am really starting to think she might have sensory issues (cannot touch or walk on grass or sand). I feel bad because we go to restaurants and see other children her age eating practically everything in front of them and Sophie continually spits food out. She likes like 1 or 2 cheeses, a couple fruits, sometimes chicken, beans, but even these things she never has a huge appetite for. She hasn't lost any weight. But she continues to get taller and her weight stays at 32lbs and doesn't change. She isn't very skinny, just slender. I just worry about how active she is and how she eats like a mouse. :nope:. Natalie was very similar when it came to food but even she ate more. But Natalie does have extreme issues with food also. I can't believe Sophia seems to have the same issues. My oldest daughter Alyssa eats everything so these 2 are so different than her.

Bethany, is it possible that Lorelei is transitioning to no napping? Sophie ditched her once a day nap when she turned 1. My other 2 also stopped napping at about 1 year old also. But I know all babies are different and many nap well into the 2nd or 3rd year.

Yay for Jen's #2 :) Thank you for the update Laura! PS Yay for sunshine! You both look great!!

Jess ~ I'm sure if you express your concerns about Soph's behavior toward food, they'll refer you for a consult. Since you have a family history of SPD it wouldn't hurt to have her checked...does she have other sensory sensitivities? https://www.foodandnutrition.org/September-October-2014/Picky-Eater-Sensory-Processing-Disorder/

Bethany ~ The pediatrician once told me, if by dinner time your toddler (up until age 5) is cranky, whiny and sensitive, then they still needed a nap. It's recommended you offer them 30min - 1hr of quiet time in the middle of the day to reboot (for both of you! Ha!). There was a recent article in Parent Mag about it (I think that was the mag). Meanwhile, Lorelie eats Tofu? That's amazing!!

Amy ~ Morning sickness, our LO's reminder to us that they are growing growing growing!! :cloud9:

I bought a Zoodle (zucchini noodles) maker! I'm excited to try it out today! Tomato, basil with Zoodles! Yum, or at least I hope it will be! ;)

I must admit, I wish Sophie would nap. It would at least give me the chance to rest, read a book or even take a nap myself. Hopefully Lorelei gets back to her regular napping schedule Bethany.

Angel, thanks for the link. I'm going to click on it after I send this message. From what I have researched, Sophia fits into SPD mildly, but enough to believe she could have possible have it or at least have sensory issues. And if her pediatrician brushes me off this time, I am finding a new one who will listen.

I just read the article Angel. Sounds a lot like Sophie. Another thing is she can barely ever take having her hair combed and cannot tolerate hair clips or hair ties. I stopped even trying to put her hair up. Socks are issues, certain clothing etc. So let's see what the doc says, I'm thinking I'm gonna have to find a new doc. I don't know what it is with docs around here but they brush off everything. :growlmad:

Pierce is almost 2!!!!!!!

Jess, I hope not! I have a friend whose older kids still nap. I just can't cope very well without some sort of a break from my child. She is very emotionally draining :(
Do you have anyone in the area that can recommend a good doctor who will listen to you? Good luck!

Angel, what if by dinner time I am the whiny, cranky one? ;)
And yes she loves tofu!
Can't wait to hear more about your Zoodle!

Laura and Amy, kisses!

My poor husband got sick after we ate out yesterday and the guy has to drive several hours away tonight. I feel for him.
Have you all heard that Reading Rainbow is coming to Netflix on the 1st? I'm very excited!

I know its tiring running after our los. But at least Lorelei is preparing you for when you have 2 los in the house. Believe me, I don't know how some people do it with several children. I feel u on the napping. My house is like a circus with my 2 younger ones. And imagine Sophia, she stopped napping at 1 year or maybe even a little earlier. But I really think Sophie and Natalie are wired differently than the norm. Maybe I should blame my dh. He never napped as a little kid and the craziest thing. He use to wake up at 4am everyday and it drove his mother crazy. Lol. He says I blame him for all of their faults.... ooops! Yay for Reading Rainbow!! I use to watch that show!

Bethany  You are the cranky one at 5pm! I feel your pain and we GET a nap! Maybe you should try the "quiet time" in the middle of the day. Good luck! My zoodles were DELISH! I know you shop Amazon and cook quite often (or you did pre-Lorelie), you should look into one. It was so easy! In the future when I make pasta for the boys, I'm going to use zucchini noodles for myself! *this is not a paid advertisment* :haha:

Jess ~ I was hoping the article would prove the opposite, but sensory issues are challenging and when caught early on can be handled. You are your daughters advocate, demand the peds office give you a referral! Why won't any of these Dr's listen to you? I wonder if it could be the root of her earlier issues with eating, poor baby girl! I love picturing your house with the girls running around...controlled chaos *bliss*

:hugs: Laura & Ami

Look at this face! The cheeks!!

Angel, I totally think her sensory issues started a long time ago. And I do notice a lot of similarities with Sophie and Natalie's sensory issues. Thx again for the article! :flower:

Oh my, Pierce is so handsome. Ever thought about modeling?? And look at all of that hair!! So blonde and beautiful! :cloud9: He is going to be a heart breaker!

Thank you Jess! I just love how his pics came out :cloud9:

Angel, Pierce is absolutely adorable!
I will have to give the Zoodle a go! I am back to cooking again now that we live in a house with a decent sized kitchen. Making beef vegetable soup tomorrow since everything else on the menu made my sick husband feel more so.
Maybe zucchini noodles would get Lorelei more ex cited about vegetables.. One can only hope!

Jess, I really don't know how people with a lot of kids do it. Well maybe I kind of do from observation lol (siblings and my parents). My parents just spaced us out really good and let our grandparents watch us- so mom and dad only had to tolerate us when they were home from work haha. One of my sisters just kind of micromanaged everyone and the other has gotten to that point that everyone jokes about- you know the joke that with your first kid you'd freak if they got into dog food but by the third you think "hey, very resourceful!"? Yeah my other sister is at that point lol.
Always blame the husband- always! Though I am to blame for a lot of Lorelei's...less than desirable traits

New toys are coming in for my ferret tomorrow and I could not be more excited about it. She destroys toys pretty quickly and she has been so mopey since the move..I really hope this will perk her up! Of course it probably didn't help that I noticed that her nearly empty bag of food was meant for old or overweight ferrets! GAH, how did I miss that initially? I swear, these poor fur babies.
Did I tell you guys that my husband wants to get chickens? He had some as pets as a kid. I noticed a package from a chicken site arrived today but I didn't open it. Guess I find out what it is tomorrow.

So much reading :-D

Zoodles sound good
I'd love yo try them.
Post me some, hee hee

Bethany we hve 6 chickens we hatched
Super friendly, nice pets and eggs soon. :-D
Mouse awake

Happy Friday Ladies!!!!

Bethany, chickens and ferrets... it sounds like you guys would never be bored at casa de Bethany! lol

Angel, I absolutely love the pics of P!!! He looks so grown up!!!!! Your photographer did a great job.

Laura, I think I would be terrified to have chickens but the idea of fresh eggs sounds really neat! I admire those that grow and harvest most of their food at home themselves! I have a black thumb and kill everything so that wouldn't work at our house lol

Jess, I second what Angel said and really hope that these drs will listen to you and you are able to get what you need for the girls.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'm not sure why but I accidentally murder all plants too
I'm good with animals though :-D
In our garden ( thanks to oh) we currently hve growing
Blackcurrants, pears, strawberries, apples, cherries
Beetroot, inion
