For those using spare opk as hpt! It doesn't always work! (POAS experiment)

Not all OPK pick up HCG!!

Never knew this was possible but this is a cassanovum OPK I had in my drawer, dipped in the same pee as my one step skinny strip. Quite obviously negative! When I've dipped OPK before over the years (as I have done many times as I'm a POAS addict!), they've been positive even with a faint line on a hpt!

Mine picked it up before my missed period!

Oh that's crazy. My opks were extremely dark but this is after I missed period and was getting dark lines on hpts x

My OPK was negative with positive HCG tests too

Back in May, I kept getting positive opks. For over a week. Turns out I was preggo after a "normal period".... My hcg was below 20 before they went negative. The next pregnancy in July, they didn't go positive at all really. Crazy!

I also used them in previous pregnancies and they picked up HCG no probs! I think they must have changed some brands to detect LH only. HCG and LH are so similar tho, they can even use a HCG shot to mimic a LH surge when using fertility drugs!
