Found out I have incompetent cervix.

So glad they were able to put the stitch in. You and bubs are the most important things now - growing that baby! You stay put and let everyone else do all the work. Big hugs and good luck sweetie xx

sending hugs ((())) and will keep you in my prayers xxxx

I'm sorry u weren't so lucky before hun, this has happened to my OH's cousin. She lost her baby at 20wks last year and had a stitch this time round.
May i ask how the discovery came about? If its simply having a doc/midwife give an internal examination, i don't understand how this cannot be part of normal routine care for pregnant women as this may save this from happening??

I'm glad the surgery went well for you, and i hope baby stays nice n safe until ur due date :)

I am so sorry for your loss last year....

I will be keeping you in my prayers :hugs:

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that God upholds your pregnancy and the baby is full term. Amen.

In my prayers. So good they got that stitch in.

I would suggest that you talk to them about anti-biotics to prevent the risk of infection after the operation. When I had my stitch put in at 21 weeks and so many days with my lil boy Corey after losing a lil boy at 18 weeks gestation previously they put me on 4 weeks of anti-biotics. They may 'cause thrush but it's worth it just to keep infection out. Also I had and I am having progesterone pessaries to prevent cervix from shortening. Maybe suggest these to your consultant. They're messy but they worked for me last time. I had the after I had stitch put in up until 32 weeks and I'll have them up until 32 weeks again this pregnancy. I carried until 39 weeks last time. My cervix was checked this pregnancy at 24 weeks and it was shortening again that's why I'm back on progesterone. I'm now 29 weeks. Hope I've helped and hope your lil one stays put!

The high risk ob specialist that did my cerclage has been pumping me full of antibiotics for past week by iv and pills and still pills at home. & progesterone :) thanks for heads up tho. knowing your emergency stitch held that long helps me stay positive.

Well the ob I was seeing didn't think i have incompetent cervix cause last time i had full blown labor and contractions. I had an ultrasound a week before this happened and cervix looked good and then out no where it was all gone basically..and this time i had no contractions or anything...bag was just falling out so the specialist diagnosed me with IC. Thanks!

Thinking of you and I hope that all goes well for you and your baby. Sounds like they got the stitch in just in time but I hope that you get rest and she keeps brewing in you for as long as possible.

Oh Hun I'm so sorry for ur loss,u and baby are in my thoughts, please stay strong cervix xx
