Freckles

I think they're to do with being in the sun - so they shouldn't develop unless they've had lots of sun exposure I guess? My LO has a few across his nose though.

so if you dont go in the sun you dont get freckles

I've always wondered about this. I think if you had skin type prone to get freckles you would have to be locked in a cave never to get any. A certain amount of sun exposure is good for you with necessary vitamins etc so I don't think you avoid them really.

I have quite a lot but I am very fair and as you can see from the pic so is Rhys

I think genitics plays a part too, but I like my freckles

I think mine started to show at the age of 4 when I went to school. Omar is exposed to lots of sunlight since he was a baby, he has 2 only one on his tummy & on on his back. DH shoulders & back are covered & I have few on my face & shoulders. They'r genetic. My mum & 2 of my brothers are covered with freckles. My 3rd brother doesn't have any although my dad have freckles on his body only. And skin colour has nothing to do with freckles, my eldest brother & dad have olive dark skin. I'm very pale & Dh, mum & youngest brother's skin is also white but not as pale as mine

My freckles started to appear at about 4 too. I think it is more to do with genetics than sun exposure.

My son's didn't really start to appear until he was 3. My daughter already had some at 12 months. I have lots of freckles so I think she will take after me.

my mums got them down her arms, and i have them over the ridge of my nose....no one else in my family has them....wierd! xxxx
