I'm new and just trying to figure out what everyone means when they recommend doing a "FRER". I guess it is a "first response early response" test? "Any" brand?

Also, is a FRER any more accurate than a regular pregnancy test if your period is already late?

Thanks.

FRER = First Response Early Result I think....

One of these: https://pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/12559/200.jpg

I'd imagine it would be more accurate, because it's made to pick up the HCG earlier, meaning once your period's late enough that regular tests pick up the HCG the FRER should show it up better? I'd imagine anyway.

Although, FRERs say they can detect pregnancy so many days before your period's due...it's a sliding scale of accuracy from then (eg as shown on ETA/link..)

ETA: "In clinical research, FIRST RESPONSE® Early Result Pregnancy Test detected the hormone level in 69% of women four days before their expected period (which is five days sooner than the day of their missed period), in 83% of women three days before their expected period, in 93% of women two days before their expected period, in 93% of women one day before their expected period.
