Gah! Just had latest FSH results back and its 12.1 IU/L (had it done on CD3). In April, it was 6.4 and a year ago, 7.1 so what's going on? I only had 7 follies back in April too but they weren't too concerned as my FSH results were good.

But now this isn't too good as I hear anything above 10 is slightly concerned (FYI, due to start IVF in August). Help appreciated. Will ask nurse when I speak to her later this week but would like to get some thoughts - does this mean my egg reserve isn't great?

trixie ...i went back and took a look at my tests when i had them done ...i was 6.6 and in it i have a explanation of result going to paste for you :)

Normal

Normal values vary widely among labs and methods used.
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
Menstruating women
Follicular phase:
2–15 international units per liter (IU/L)
Midcycle peak:
22–57 IU/L
Luteal phase:
1–16 IU/L
Women past menopause:
14–52 IU/L
Men:
1–8 IU/L
Children before puberty:
0.5–4 IU/L

so i believe your are in the range ....

hi trixie, did your FS suggested doing a amh test, that would give a better indication of your ovarian reserve?

an fsh of 12 isn't great, but wouldn't prevent your chance of a successful ivf round. It is likely though that they would want to stimulate you more.

What you have to remember is that all they will tell you or you will read is about statistics, not about whether you can get a bfp or not. Yeah, statistically, if you have a great fsh and high AFC, you have a higher chance of more eggs, therefore more number to fertilise, and more chances to pick the best to implant, but i doesn't mean that if you have all this, you will get a bfp, but if you only get 5 eggs, 2 only fertilise that you are doomed from the start very far from it.

Good luck on your ivf journey, hope to read about your bfp in a couple of months :hugs:

Thanks girls! And thanks my petal, Miel! My nurse said she'll discuss it was dr on monday I suspect they'll pop me on short protocol which suits me :-)
