Around the time of holidays in the US they put out coloring books to go with each holiday (Easter, Halloween, Christmas). About a month or maybe less before the holiday, buy a coloring book. Every night before bedtime, get with your child or children and color a page together. It is great for spending quality time, and a good winding down before bed...also when the coloring book is done, you can put it up as a keepsake. My friend gave me this idea when she was telling me about spending good times with her mother. I thought it was good bonding, and I am doing this for Easter with my son. And hopefully we will continue for the years to come and he'll remember time spend with momma.
