funny conversation on facebook got me wondering!!!

Ahhh, ok lol... kinda like a jam doughnut? but cream XD haha.

I guess you could say they are like jam doughnut but not exactly the same included a piccy for you :flower:

Kinda like sponge cake with cream inside! Now I want a twinkie! :haha:

I grew up calling a vagina a cootchie, I have no idea what I called boy bits, lol.

I'm going to teach the correct terms though. :flower:

To be honest I don't actually know what a twinkie is? lol (sorry maybe I'm just being thick?! or is it an american thing? :dohh:)

I understand the safety issue, I was just having this conversation with my MIL on msn as I posted this haha. I know it's not anything to be ashamed of... I just think it sounds... in some way like their innocence has been compromised  I know that sounds really daft, but to me it just sounds "off" when a 3 year old says the word penis or vagina :/ lol.

But like you said, each their own I guess :) I will be teaching arrison the real names as he gets older, but not til he's at school at least.

Im with you, i dont know what a "twinkie" is either and i agree that when kids are little it just doesnt sound right when they use words like 'vagina' and 'penis', i dont like it one little bit but each to their own of course!!
My mam always called my lady bits my daisy but now i always call it my nun or nunni and my little Lucas will have a willy!!

I see youre from County Durham, im originally from there, which part are you from?
xxxx

I'm not from here originally, originally I'm from the south. Been living here for about 5 years now :) Living in Peterlee, not far from Hartlepool :)

Ahhhh i know Peterlee, ive only been maybe once or twice like, years ago but ive been to Hartlepool a few times, my uncle used to live there!
Im from Ferryhill but have been living in Tenerife for the past 5 years!!

What moved you up there? Its bloody cold isnt it?:haha:
xxx

willy for a boys bits and nelly for girls haha no idea why

Nooni (if that's how it's spelt!!!) and willy for a boy.
I still use these names now! Lol
I understand there is a need to teach your children the proper names for things but I really don't see the problem in using the terms that you do as a parent (obviously not if it's rude or vulgar).

We moved up here when I was 17... so that actually makes it nearly 6 years we've lived here haha.

My aunty met my uncle online and he was from here. He moved down to live down south near us originally, but he missed his kids (he has 2 sons and a daughter from a previous relationship) so they both moved up here. My aunty then found out she was pregnant... which was a bit of a miracle because she tried for 13 years with her ex-husband for a baby and was told she would never conceive due to PCOS and other complications.

When my little cousin was born my grandparents wanted to move up here to be nearer to them, and I've always lived with my grandparents since I was little (for lots of reasons I never understood until recently) so I moved up with them. But now the whole family is here pretty much haha. My parents and my brother moved up here about 4 years ago so we are all living nearby again :)

It is fairly cold, but to be fair I don't really notice it anymore lol. The first year we lived up here was the first time I had ever seen snow! I was so excited haha. I remember just standing out in it (as a 17 year old with my boyfriend at the time looking at me like I was crazy haha) and just watching it come down around me haha. Last years snow was the best ever! I think this is the first year since living here that I've prayed not to have snow lol. The thought of walking on the ice while I'm pregnant was just too scary!

Alright for some though! Living in Tenerife, pfft ;P It's lovely out there, I love the canary islands!

And wow! That turned into an essay of a reply didn't it lol.

Haha, some of these names are making me chuckle :haha: I've never heard of them being called nooni or nelly before haha.

I do soemtimes now call it my foof, it's a word my aunty uses and I've kind of picked up from her haha. She says tut too lol. When she was pregnant with her youngest she would always says about "shooting pains in my tut" I think I know what she means now... I think she was talking about the cervix pokes! XD

We always called vaginas fairies which looking back is pretty odd.. Maybe its a Peterlee thing? My family come from there too :haha:

Haha, maybe! I'd never heard it til we moved here. Tuppence is another I'd never heard til we moved here haha.
