Game of Thrones!!!

OH has read and loves the books, he gets all nitpicking about the changes in the show, i do intend to read them but i've got a huge pile of books to get through,

I jumped on the bandwagon after season 2, and decided to read the books first. And honestly, I was really pleased with how minor the changes seem. They even do a good job of adding extra scenes. maybe it's because the author is really involved with it.

He doesn't agree with some of the cast choices. The guy with Dany is meant to be super eccentric I think and out there and he's been very toned down. Stuff like that :)

Minor?! Are you kidding me?!?! Watching the show is always exciting even though I've read the books as it's pretty much a different story!

For one Dany is meant to be the most beautiful woman in the world.
Two no one is a big enough twat. Like WTF is with Lord Tywin being nice to Arya?! No.
Jamie killed the other prisoner in the TV series and that never happened in the book because Jamie is a nice guy!!
The fact that it's like E4 puked all over Westeros bugs me. I cannot take anyone who has been in Hollyoaks seriously. Skins throwbacks are pushing it too.

Okay, I'm done. Sorry I get pissy over ANY film/show made from a book

I'm not saying that the changes aren't noticeable... I'm saying that for me, they don't stick out like sore thumbs. They don't make me cringe and go WTF. So in that sense, I find them minor. Some of them are even understandable since each season is only 10 episodes, like how Selmy revealed his true idenity to Dany immediately instead of him being incognito for god only knows how long.

Even the way Tywin treated Arya at Harrenhal wasn't particularly nice - just with a slight deference to the fact that she was highborn, which is in character for him to do, but he mostly just treated her like he would any other servant - someone below notice unless they screw up.

And as for Jamie - he's not really that nice of a guy for at least the first two books. He's an egotistic ass that throws a 7 year old off a tower to protect his secret incest. He kills a relative/fellow prisoner AND a guard to escape when Robb Stark has him captive. He doesn't show any really redeeming qualities until he looses a hand.

I hated the casting choice for Daario in season 3. I'm really glad they got someone different for this season.

Like with True Blood? Lol

I know what your saying. Their are changes but I've seen other shows/movies go waaaay off the rails with their adaptations

Seriously?! I have either missed or entirely blanked out Jamie's escape/murdering tendencies, excluding Bran, from the books. I just find him adorable!

ding dong joffrey's gone!! :happydance:

Good episode though not quite so open mouthed shocking as red wedding.

Thank goodness for tonights ending!! As someone who hasn't read the books I didn't see that coming!!!! 😱

That was the least violent and yet most graphic kill yet. Yuck!

I'm just going to put it out there... I am attracted to Ramsay Snow and I'm not ashamed!! Okay, I'm a little ashamed...

I haven't read the books but I would totally buy that Dany is the most beautiful woman in the world. Emilia Clarke is a major babe!

I watched the first three seasons in six days   loving season 4!

Oh and Ive started reading the books but still on the first one!

Well i mean, crazy does make for an interesting relationship :haha:
& he has an interesting way to deal when his missus feels a bit jealous :haha:

I knew Joffrey was going to die and OH guessed it would be this ep but i still thought it was fantastic, even knowing it was going to happen, best death yet.

Ok. So just watched the first episode of the first season.
1) I wasn't expecting it to be like watching porn
2) I wasn't expecting it to be full of gore either.

Feel a bit violated by it already!!!

I'll watch the second episode and see if I can carry on with it.. !!

If nudity and gore don't appeal to, or bother you, I wouldn't suggest this show. Some episodes are worse than others, but it is a fairly good portion of the series in general. I would suggest the books, however, if you enjoy reading.

I guess the season 4 premiere crashed the HBO Go service, due to overload!

Me and hubby decided we should see what all the fuss is about - ending up watching all 3 seasons within 2weeks! (Now kinda hating having to wait a week in between each new episode!) Though I have decided that its good if your on a diet - i keep getting quite put off my food during the gorey bits!

Ok. So I got through season one without vomiting through all the decapitations, although the worst one was probably the horse. Can't usually watch gruesome stuff, I'm doing very well!
Can't stand Joffrey ... Have an overwhelming urge to put him across my knee and spank him NOT IN A SEXUAL WAY!!!

We knew he was going to die as well, just couldn't wait for it to happen! I have to say, major kudos to the actor who plays Joffery. I see a picture of him and haaaaate him. :haha: He did a really good job of playing a douche and all things douchebaggery!

Have you heard his real accent? He's Irish, from the south so quite strong... He speaks so well!

Omg the Joffrey death was am.az.ing! What a vile character. He is a brilliant actor I'm almost a bit sad he won't be in it now. Who dunnit though?!

I haven't! But now I'm going to go look lol!

He really is a great actor. I follow a few of the girls (Sansa, Arya, Cersei) on Twitter and they have always raved about how kind he is in real life!

I didn't see it coming when I read the books for the first time. The written scenes are amazing. The whole wedding is so much more elaborate even than what's on the show. Seriously, like a 700 course feast.

But even though I knew it was coming, it was still satisfying.

It was the horse bit that really got me - i was eating chocolate at the time, i just handed it to hubby and said "i dont think i want this anymore!"
wierd as i'm normally fine, i'll happily watch Bones or casulty whilst eating dinner! ;)
Jefroy - much as i hate him he is an awesome actor to be able to play the charactor so well!!!
