Game of Thrones!!!

Thank goodness for tonights ending!! As someone who hasn't read the books I didn't see that coming!!!! 😱

I didn't see it coming when I read the books for the first time. The written scenes are amazing. The whole wedding is so much more elaborate even than what's on the show. Seriously, like a 700 course feast.

But even though I knew it was coming, it was still satisfying.

700 courses!!!!!!! (and i thought our 3 courses was expensive! ;) )

We have a theory that its Majories grandmother - i think it could be poisoned pie not wine though as no one else ate any yet!! (please those who have read the books - no spoilers i beg you!!!)

Hubby also came up with this theory as soon as it happened. She also hinted at it to (I think) Sanza when they were talking, saying 'how dispicable to kill someone at a wedding'. I hole Tyrian doesn't get the blame!!

ding dong joffrey's gone!! :happydance:

Good episode though not quite so open mouthed shocking as red wedding.
Yaaaaaaay! so happy to see that little shit gone. I don't think I've ever rooted so much for a character's death :haha:

Hmm the grandmother is a possibiloty...I was thinking Margery just because she always has that weird smirk going on. Nothing better happen to Tyrion!

Joffrey was a shithead but I'll miss him! He was such a great character!

In the book, it is heavily implied that the Tyrells were behind it, but Tyrion gets all the blame.

I think the author's wife has threatened divorce if either tyrion or arya die. by the end of the 5th book book, both are alive. There's some interesting twists coming up for both, though.

It's not in the show but Cersei is paranoid when it comes to Tyrion because of something a fortune teller said when she was young.

And yes 700. I guess the standard Westeros tradition is 7 courses, but they had to up the ante for it being a royal wedding.

I totally agree. The actor did such an amazing job creating a character that you absolutely hated. I remember the very first time we met him both my hubby and I despised him! :haha:

It is weird having the main "bad guy" dead...

See i never viewed Joffrey as the main bad guy, because he was a puppet (sometimes out of control but) of Tywin, Cersai and then the Tyrells. I see Stannis and Bolton as more of the bad guys.

Me too.

I saw this thing on a website that has in pictures (from the TV show) all the plot twists coming up. I had forgotten about some of them! Its been so long since I've read the books, might have to re-read them.

I'm going through my bookshelf atm, started the other day because theres books i want to reread and piles i have to read so i'll be starting GoT for the first time soon! :haha:

Yeah I just don't hate any of the others anywhere near as much! :haha:

Its gonna take me an age to read the books but im really enjoying them so far!

That's the thing about the series that makes it fascinating for me. There isn't one singular villain. It's all varying degrees of good and bad with a heavy dose of human nature.

Stannis? Really? Stannis is pretty decent in the books. But yeah I agree, it's really unusual to have a series where no one is completely a good or bad character. You can't even be safe in hating Cersei!

I was thinking this yesterday, about the baddies!! How do you differentiate between the villains and what makes one worse than the other. The worst ones for me so far has been Joffry and Ramsey, just because of their sadistic nature. Completly take delight and enjoyment from torturing people. Then there's Sodor, who just kills anyone he comes across , classed as a villain and seems to kill people for the sake of it but I kind of like him a little!
Feel a sorry for Theon now since Ramsey has had him, I know he was a traitor to Robb stark, maybe deserved his head chopped offbut not was he's had to endure!

If they keep any of it in from the books, you'll feel sorry for Cersei a little here soon, as well.

I know, I've read them :haha: As the books are at the moment (hoping for the next one ASAP!) I feel really bad for her. I just wish she didn't hate poor Tyrion.

I'm responding to quite a few different posts here, but to quote them would take up the whole page!

I kinda agree that Ramsay Snow is attractive... but I also think Peter Dinklage is quite hot as well!

I ~almost~ felt sorry for Joffrey at the end - he looked like what he really was all along: a scared little boy. Amazing make up and/or cgi!

We watched the whole scene a few times to see exactly where that goblet was and who had the opportunity. Obviously Tyrion and Sansa hold it but while Joff is demanding that Tyrion kneel just as the pie comes out the goblet is out of sight on the table behind Marjory...

There's so many theories though, and everyone has a motive, even Cersei.

I also agree that I wouldn't consider him the 'bad guy' - yeah he was a massive dick but he wasn't really a threat on a large scale. There are people far more scary than Joffrey, especially Tywin - even Joff was scared of Tywin.

I also find Peter Dinklage attractive. Who knew this show would have me attracted to a sadist and a dwarf. :haha:

I love Tywin, I think he's a great character. I'm a big fan of the Lannisters in general, they're an interesting bunch. Except Cersei, I hate Cersei.

They film a lot of it over here in northern Ireland and I seen Peter Dinklage at our local softplay place with his little girl. He was very cross looking!
