General chatter while we wait (and commentary on the "pull out method")

you're still early autumnal!! I guess you'll get what you're meant to have but I'll still hope this is your month *fx*

People chewing food, tapping, or pretty much most repetitive sounds are the worst.
Same, repetitive noises like tapping and ticking drive me nuts.
We found out Friday we’re having another girl!
Congratulations! That’s so exciting!

im autistic and all 4 of my kids are too i assume this baby prob will be too. :headspin:
Well, you’re the perfect mama for them, because you know what it’s like to struggle with a lot of the things they may struggle with. They must have the best advocate ever!

omg Shae your hyper fixation was pregnancy at 15?! That's wild!
I’m just going to quietly remind you that I am 25 years old and that maybe perhaps you should check my join date ;) the hyperfixation was WILD in my teens. I’ve had a baby registry for like 5 years. I’m continually updating it as I find newer better products
I stopped working on the pregnancy binder years ago, but honestly now that I think about it, it would probably be very helpful to gather myself a ton of information in an accessible spot, all in one place. I think I would do it on Google docs these days.

Maybe you should start a blog to share your knowledge, like “Ttc facts distilled” or something.

Jukes I missed your announcement!! Congratulations on the new little princess!!!

Hm maybe… I really have no idea how to do a blog though, and I feel like I just Google questions as I have them, I don’t follow blogs. But maybe.

Maybe YouTube? ;)

Ugh y’all the pregnancy insomnia is real!! It’s 5:30 and I’ve been up for over an hour and a half. Baby is wigglin’ more which is nice. I’m excited for being able to feel him from the outside so my kids can feel it. Even though I thought my middle kid would be the most interested in this pregnancy, my youngest has really been into it recently. Sadly though he’s told me he is afraid I’m going to die when I give birth  breaks my heart! I was just having an open conversation with my kids about how I’d be having surgery to get baby out and they can’t fathom how I can have a wound that big and not die lol

Of course in the back of my mind I’m like…oh the tragedy if that were to happen *sobbing* I’ve been up tonight anxious about life’s “what ifs…?” Including what if the ultrasound has bad news and then also about my mom (there is literally nothing wrong with her health but anxious minds gonna anxious).

On the plus side hubby got a respectable end of year bonus andI think tomorrow we’re going to try and do something charitable with the kids. I’m thinking have them pick out toys to donate for toys4tots or something like that.

I'm so sorry you are feeling anxious. I know that statistically women dying from childbirth these days is very very rare but statistics never make me feel much better... It's better to just pray and turn to your favourite verses and put your trust there! (I always wish someone would remind me to do this when I'm spiralling, haha!)

That's so nice you are going to do that with your kids. I hope that it makes a lasting impression for them

Gigs I totally started making a blog hahahaha I decided it would be a mix of women’s health from a semi-crunchy perspective and Christian content because that’s a big part of who I am. So I’m working on building a website.

Ah geez I’m sorry about the anxiety, poor kiddo worrying about that. Have you had prior c-sections? I can’t remember but I feel like you have… If so maybe it would help to tell them that they were born that way and you had no issues and the doctors took great care of you.
The toys4tots idea sounds lovely!

I'm cd 3 today... After I got my BFNs I was just wishing that my next cycle would start early so I don't have a red Christmas and I'm happy it came true lol. My husband said he will give it the college try this cycle hahahaha

@autumnal sorry about the BFN, but yay for no red Christmas!

Unfortunately DH and I are spending Christmas Eve in the emergency room with my grandfather. We brought him Saturday for leg swelling, and despite taking his lasix for the past few days, the leg swelling has gotten worse. His kidney levels are significantly worse and they are concerned he may have a clot in his leg. They decided to admit him. So instead of spending Christmas working in the hospital, I’m spending it not working, but still in the hospital.

That’s so unfortunate! I just prayed for you all. Your grandfather is blessed to have you near him.

Dh and I just finished setting up the kids for Christmas morning. After, we dtd and then double checked our Christmas work- i left the cookies for Santa! Glad we didnt insult our son. Could you imagine a three year old boy bakes cookies for Santa and Santa leaves them?! Hahaha
Im excited for Christmas. Both kids will have a blast and dh & I sip Irish coffees.
Still no positive opk yet, but perhaps in the morning. Merry Christmas ladies!

Shae I'm so sorry about your grandpa! Sending all my prayers

HalfricanMa I did something similar, I stuffed the stockings and noticed after my 3 year old woke me up that I left one of the things for my 5 year old mom the couch lol, so I had to sneak it in there

I'm so sorry. I hope he's OK :hugs:

Hi ladies!! How did everyone’s Christmas go?

Shae I hope your grandfather is ok. Not a way anyone wants to spend a holiday, least of all him I’m sure. Prayers he is fine after treatment.

Our xmas went well! This is the last Santa year for our oldest though, we feel he should know…I mean he’s going to be 13 this upcoming year, a bit old IMO. But I think he’s going to be excited to be in on the secret and help next time, stay up late and pick gifts and all that.

Anyway I got everything I wanted and am especially excited to try some new crochet projects from a book I got!

Also we had our ultrasound today and all went well! Was quite a relief as I had a creepy dream last night about the baby’s leg coming through my belly…it was moving and all but just a bone. Super weird, vivid, and freaky!

Anyway half glad you remembered the cookies and autumn glad you saw the gift! My middle kid lost a tooth last week and the tooth fairy forgot to come :dohh: He was sad and I said hey, you know what? Sometimes she gets busy. That happened to me once and you know what? The next night I got double the money! LOL — he was excited that he got $2 instead of just $1 lol

@gigglebox such a beautiful ultrasound pic. Congrats. Lol we have forgotten the tooth fairy before too. I'm amazed your 13 year old still believes, my 8 year old was questioning it this year (somebody probably said something at school).. I didn't tell him the truth because he's THAT kid who would ruin it for the little ones hah

@shaescott I hope your grandpa is okay? Prayers for your family... Please let us know how you are doing

Our Christmas went well, I didn't get to see either of my brothers or their kids unfortunately (one lives overseas and the other one is becoming sort of estranged) but all good other than that.. and on the ttc front I'm just waiting to O, should be another week

I’m surprised he believes, too…or hasn’t directly asked me. Last year he had some doubts but let it go. This is also our HFA kiddo so he just thinks differently. He’s also never gotten particularly excited about Christmas, at least not outwardly. That’s part if why I really don’t think he’ll be bothered by the big reveal. I think my other two, especially my second, will be questioning things a lot earlier.

Thanks about the ultrasound! She got his little face almost immediately and I definitely teared up. I’m still in a state of disbelief but my goodness, that cute little face! And his little feet!!

Sorry you missed out on extended family time :/ but on the other hand, sometimes it’s nice to just have chill time with immediate family. I think we’re going to do that for New Years. We haven’t been invited to anything, nor do I want to go anywhere or host anything, so that’s fine with me. I absolutely love fondue and making it at home so I’m thinking maybe we do that with the kids, maybe some chocolate and cheese with various dippers and call it a night.

@gigglebox Look how cute baby is!!! I have forgotten the tooth fairy before as well. I ended up putting it under later in the day with a note saying she got caught in a storm. Lol I’m so glad he’s believed for that long! My oldest is almost 9 and believes, but she’s not a fan of mythical creatures. She writes a note for Santa to leave the presents outside because she doesn’t like strangers in the house.
@autumnal Im glad you had a a nice Christmas! It’s so hard to see everyone. I didn’t get to se my mom, dad, or brothers yet. It would be so much easier if we celebrated at one location.
@shaescott I hope all is well! That’s a horrible way to have to spend Christmas, I’m sorry.

We had a great Christmas. I took off a week and it’s been so nice relaxing at home. I plan to take the kids to get out of the house because even with all the new toys they need to let out some restless energy. Also, my MIL came to spend the night and my youngest slipped about the baby. We were going to wait til after the holidays, but I’m glad it’s all out now. I knew my in-laws would be the tough ones. She reacted exactly how I thought, but we’re adults and a family so I don’t care about any negative comments or opinions.

Jules I'm glad you had a great Christmas in spite of the in-laws reactions. I'm expecting to have a similarly unpleasant reaction from my parents if this pans out for us.. but life goes on!

Jules that is the cutest thing ever about leaving the gifts outside  so...where DOES Santa leave the gifts then?? Glad you had a nice Christmas. So what did MIL say about the baby? I feel you on restless children. Mine have been playing video games like it's the last chance they'll ever have, haha. It's been raining so sending them outside hasn't been an option :/ although they did get out to try their new swingset between rain. They've also been playing with new toys (and reading new books, in the case of my oldest) so at least there's that. But yes....these kids need to go OUT.

Oh no Autumn, not you too! My mom was the sour one in the pregnancy reveals. She almost seemed disappointed, like I was revealing a teen pregnancy, lol. But she's excited now, or at least pretends to be :p I think she's done pretty well, grandkid-wise -- at least I assume as a parent, your ultimate goal is to have as many grandkids as possible...or is that just me?? :-k She had 3 kids but one will never have kids (imprisoned) and between me and my brother we'll have 6. Not a bad ratio!
