hm The test site of the ADAC unfortunately doesnt have a category for rear facing vs forwardfacing but I think the stftung warentest site has it(but it costs money to access the results )
Oh You could also say that german tend to be more on the eco-organic path with cloth nappies too. even if you dont take the flats and prefold ones 90% of German cloth nappies are just plain beige or have some prints that remind me of children's band aid. I think this is a bit of a pity, meaning you need to import the pretty ones(or rather pay the higher price they have since they are imported)

Probably because they're not sold here past 13kg. The Recaro Polaric was tested and it's the only extended rear facer on the German market (I swear) and it tested quite poorly..

Oh this one that are tested are till 18 kg, at least the example that I gave in the link is up to 4 years or 18 kgs. for 2011 and 2012 it shows three seats. one of them has a high toxic substances rating so it hasnt got a good rating. The other one has a bad rating for security so it obvioulsy has a bad over all rating. The stuftung warentest site has a lot more also from previous years,but not sure how many of them are rearfacing.
The one with the bad rating has a bad rating only for forward facing, it says in the descrption that if put in rearfacing then it is better than average security.

There is a BabyWelt in gersthofen which has good advice and service apparently(according to the mums who have been there, rom what i see on openstreetmap.org it is not that far away from Augsburg

But the izi combi 3 is isofix only from my knowledge or? I think checking out Babywelt this weekend is a good idea. More selection and hopefully someone can help us. Just scared to go on a Saturday but ah well. Leaning towards a Britax First Class at the moment though.

Sounds like with the britax you're getting a pretty good compromise.
I'd also think handling/ease of installation would be pretty significant, because even the very best car seat is worthless if it isn't properly installed!

I think lots of handling ratings stem from the fact it is unusual , at test.de the seat didnt have such a bad handling rating.

Last night I ordered a Britax First Class Plus. I saw it that way too holywoodmum, a good compromise. I feel a lot better about it all too and am relieved to have finally settled on something. morri, I didn't see that model tested in the PDFs you sent, have you by any chance?

This is with creamin/oiling every day too so you see if you have bad genes you can oil/creme as much as you want .

Aaw, sorry morri! That's all part in having a baby though. I said bye bye to my pre-pregnancy body ages ago now. It's all worth it though, that's the good news! And who knows, maybe they'll fade away afterward and you'd have never even known!
