I don't know what they're for except to sign up. I'm planning on asking about what they have available medicine wise and like nappy/baby clothing wise. What I need to bring etc.

I always eat lots of broccoli :) it's my favourite! But I also eat lots of bean and a reasonable amount of meat. So really, I think my body might not absorb it well, I have low iron normally so :shrugg:

Yay for the pram!! We also got a good deal on a second hand one :)

Sarah, I find this site to be very helpful if you want to take a look:
https://www.cdc.gov/nutrition/everyone/basics/vitamins/iron.html#Iron Sources
I don't even see broccoli on the list of iron rich food! I swear I read it somewhere! Too bad practically everything on that list isn't extremely appetizing. I do see shrimp on the list though - I've been eyeing it a lot in stores but always pass it up thinking minimal sea food while pregnant. What do you all think? Are shrimp okay? I guess I'll have to look into that.

Which stroller do you have Sarah?

Teutonia mistral s, we got it for 112euros down from 699 new!!

Yeah, I eat beans a couple of times a week, and definitely mince and tofu and other red meats. I think broccoli is up there for veges, so is quinoa, which isnt on the list :O.= (which I also eat about once a week...). I obviously could eat more of these things... but... I kind of feel like I should be eating enough :'(

Oh wow thats a good price for the pram . Hope everything is alright with it. My appt was the 33 week scan, so all the measures got taken noted in the Mutterpass. I do however have an ultrasound every time anyway,
These appointments are so you can tell them how you feel ou would like your birth to go through, like do you want a pda (epidural) or not , and stuff like this, also they give you some more information too. I also got with todays registering already the envelope/form for registering the birth of the child. If you register at the hospital you have to bring your insurance card, your Mutterpass and your passport btw :)

Ooo, yeah, need to remember my passport. Wonder if they want my birth cert too, oh well, I'll take everything. I have an appointment for thursday. My OB isnt at the hospital though, so all that stuff we don't do with the ob.

Good deal Sarah! You got it in Germany? I'm not seeing a Teutonia on Amazon.

How are you getting an ultrasound at every appointment morri?
My midwife never asked me about an epidural although I did tell her I'd like to avoid it if possible. Well, I had to be induced and 1hr. before my daughter was born I got one after she'd asked me a good few times if I want one. I don't regret that decision a bit. Hoping I don't have to be induced this time but as long as she arrives safely.

Sarah, I believe they will need your birth certificate at the hospital. We brought mine along with my passport, health insurance, proof of marriage.. I can't say for sure all that was needed and my husband's sleeping so I'll have to ask tomorrow. Thankfully he took care of all that. :)

I wish I had seen this thread when I lived in Grafenwoehr! I was TTC for 5 years. I met my doctor who was German and my miracle man. I will always love Germany, without it, I.know in my heart I wouldn't have my daughter. If anyone is TTC, an no success with their doctor, have a call to Dr. Krieg. He is in Amberg. Lovely man, nice offices. :) good luck ladies. I miss Germany. Someone please go to a little backeri and get me a pastry! ;) oh, and a chocolate bar. Bitte. Danke. Lol, ah I miss it. Lovely people. Best place I have ever lived.

Hi MegnJoe! My cousin and her husband lived in Grafenwöhr!! :) That's great you liked Germany so much! How long did you live here? Congratulations on your baby girl. :flower:

Sounds like you've found sone good deals on pram ladies!
P is ok, quite unsettled yesterday, crying when not feeding, and wouldn't nap. Also had my 4 year old home sick :(
My head's really sore, I've had chronic tension headache for 3 and a half years, it got better while pregnant, now it's back every day :(
My midwife now coming once a week instead of 3 times a week, sounds pathetic but I'm really going to miss her.
Weather grim today and feeling sorry for myself, sorry.

Well the doc checked up on the baby everytime by ultrasound, and since week 20 I also got 3D pics everytime . (well I had to pay for the 3D package but the ultrasounds are paid by the normal insurance :).
Hi MegnJoe nice to see you liked Germany :).
Weather is still grim here too, but at least it isnt as windy anymore, and it isnt raining atm... My oh comes back this evening :) and He said that me may not have to go to china after all and can do alll the business while the vessel is in New York which would be a shorter trip . :).

Oh my goodness, so sorry holywoodmum. :( That sounds really rough. A tension headache for 3 1/2yrs?! Isn't there any way to treat that? I've also found I get significantly less headaches while pregnant and no migraines. Strange!
I've been having a hard time with Aurora the past couple of days. We may bring her to her pediatrician to get checked if things don't improve. She has around 400ml of formula a day (and refuses the rest no matter how often I try), which can't be enough at 9 months. She'll eat a decent amount of puree the first meal but the second meal not so well. She's a major grump pretty much the entire day and took two hours to sleep last night. It was a nightmare. And things were going so smoothly, sigh. :( So yeah, I semi know how you're feeling. :flow:
It's tough those first few months after birth on the emotional side too. I've been there. Take good care of yourself and things will start looking up soon I'm sure. :flower:

morri, I don't get an ultrasound every appointment and never have. :( 3 are paid for by insurance, 1 in each trimester, but we did pay for a couple privately because I couldn't wait that long to see baby.
Yay for your husband coming back! Hope he can do business in New York instead then! :)

I feel like the weather here is always the opposite to the rest of you all. It's gorgeous here today. Sunny but a bit on the chilly side with wind.:coolio:

Awww, you ladies don't seem to be having the best day :(. Weather is terrible here too, but that's really nothing new!

Yay for the packages arriving!! Haha, you've reminded me I need to put up DHs washing....

I'm pretty sure this is going to be me in 2 months. Unwashed, stressed, sleep deprived, etc etc etc!

thats the pram i wanted but we werent sure if we would have the money so my mum got us a second hand pram off my friend

Thanks morri. I think she may have another tooth or two coming through but it's hard to say for sure. She's acting different than when she got her first two at 7.5 months. It's just tough when you don't know what's wrong. :(

So all of your ultrasounds are paid for by insurance morri? I thought every gyn office has the same conditions with how many ultrasounds you get that are covered.

Looks like a nice stroller Sarah! A nice amount of space underneath for shopping too!

Does anyone else get a vaginal scan done at every appointment? ive mentiond it to a few people and they have said no,but my doc does one everytime wasnt sure if its due to my uterus or if its normal

I only had a vaginal scan in the early weeks when the uterus wouldnt have been past the pelvic bone yet. Now it is all over the belly.
I think it depends on the gyn whether he does them or not, but I think my sister had them also at every appointment.

thank you she says she does them to check the cervix and uterus more than the baby just wasnt sure it its due to my bicornuate or normal:haha:

Atm I only get finger checks for my cervix, and I think this is how the other docs I have heard from do it as well.
