I get the feeling that midwives mean well, but often end up telling women to do pretty dumb things when it comes to BFing :( I know someone else who had my 'outside the hospital' midwife and she had told her to do some things that later a lactation consultant told her to completely not do...
He's hoping I just have a greedy little monkey who latches easy and I have heaps of milk :D

Good luck on having good progress soon.

Btw I have seen the white and the hazelnut kit kat chunky again, maybe it means they are going to have the peanut one as well..

Here, All is well so far, tomorrow is my next appt, and thats 1 week before due date, oi. I get the occassional contraction but they are still quite sparse.

Yeah, you've still got heaps of time for things to develop! Good luck with ur appointment!!

Sarah, how are you??

Good news about the Kit Kats morri, yoohoo, bring those babies back!:happydance: I tried a Wunderbar you know! I saw them at the gas station. Not bad! :D 1,50€ a for a little bar though, ouch! Good luck tomorrow!

I had my appointment today. Baby's doing well I'm happy to say. :) She weighs 1,150g and is around 35cm long, growing right on track. She was laying really awkwardly so no pic. :( My iron level started at 13,5 in the 9th week and in the 25th week only went down to 12,1! Sounds pretty good! Last time I started at 14 in the 9th week and went down to 11,4 in the 24th week. So I was glad about that too because I thought it'd be much lower really. I told the doctor about the dizziness and he suggested Korodin drops. Hopefully that helps.

Eh gas stations are always costly :haha: Good to hear your appt was going well :D.

I'm doing fine, probably getting some more consistent contractions. But still not really taking notice of them.

Woah, so much iron :P I don't think mine has ever been 13... :P
Good luck with the dizzyness stuff!! Is it still as bad as it was?

those ladies who had the blood suger belastungs test were you told to not eat b4 you went and were you told you had to pay? we had a big blow up with my doc today over it they neveronce mentiond we had to pay until i was alone  and then said that if its not paid they will just throw away the bloods 3 vials of it:shrug: hubby was really pissed with them and told them next time they should tell in advance when you have to pay for things especialy as my last appointmenti was TOLD i HAD to have it within 14 daysno mention of it costing. so as thats not the first time they have done something like that and the doc rushes through things like scans our last scan we were left to tear the photos from the printer ourselfs:wacko: we have registerd with a new doctor andmy first apt with them is next tuesday where they will do full bloods again and ctg and go from there was a bit of a nightmare day today we were also told to just go in at anytime and to carry on taking my meds etc yet when i got there it was the fulltest good job i never ate!

Great! :) It's still really uncomfortable but I guess a touch better than the past weeks. It's probably circulation-related since my body's on overdrive now. I've noticed I get most dizzy when going up the 3 flights of stairs to the apartment and random times when sitting at night..

I talked to the gynecologist about renting a pump from the pharmacy on prescription and he said I'd have to wait until after the birth and I really should give breastfeeding a try. He said a lactation consultant would be covered under insurance. Wonder if I can make an appointment with one before she's born to let her know of my concerns and how realistic it all is. I feel so nervous and pressured to make it work. Just don't know how to do all this will little-no sleep plus a 13 month old I don't want to feel ignored.

Wow Whisper, that sounds awful. Not sure why they wouldn't have gone into detail about the blood sugar test. This time I was told to eat as much as I want before and I had to come in the afternoon for blood to be taken. It cost 20ish€ I believe.

I understand how frustrating that must be, especially when the staff or your doctor isn't willing to take the time to go further into detail about it. There are a couple ladies at the office at mine who also are very short with me and think I can't understand them anyway or something although I always respond and have always spoken German with them all. All the better you've switched doctors, hope you have more luck this time.

hm I only had the normal glucose test where I had to drink stuff and wait for an hour. so not the full blown thing? They should have made sure that you understood everything though ! Mine alwaysw warns before hand if there is something I have to pay. and mine also speaks English too in any case(I know because they talked to oh before)

Yeah, pretty sure mine told us before that it was a cost thing. Actually, I'm not even sure it did cost, they just told us to buy our own glucose from the pharmacy and bring it in  But my doctor always asks if we want other things and tells us about the cost etc :/
Good luck with the new doctor!!! Hopefully they're a bit more considerate...

Okay gals, get this - and so the neighbor saga continues..

We get a letter from the Jugendamt today about an anonymous report of our baby crying a lot at night. I'm completely taken aback by this and angered (especially since that's more than exaggerated)! I have two theories, one looking more convincing than the other but both possible. I think it's the grump who moved in a few months back across from us. The lady that lived there before was never bothered and always kind to us and she lived there when Aurora cried the most, those newborn days.. even then it wasn't extreme! When I hear about some babies crying for hours on B&B I know she's a quiet baby. Anyway, this new lady has been a b.... since day one. I greeted her the first time so nicely and she mumbled back and looked in the worst of moods. I thought, um okay, just our luck another crap neighbor. She's been like that ever since. So, I put my bets it was her who reported us. Then there's the construction camp above us. Also possible but very laughable since they decide to build kitchens at 10PM and have a loud 4 year old. I so want out.. now the Jugendamt wants to help us and may come by the apartment. I can't believe this.

Ugh, crazy people...
Let the jugendamt come, and show how idiotic ur neighbour is being...

Lost my plug this morning, hoping something will start tonight!!!!

Yep, we have nothing to hide so they can come when they want. Such a stress for nothing.

YAY ABOUT THE PLUG! That's a clear sign you're about to reach the finish line!:wohoo: Go Sarah, you've got this!:happydance:

I hope so, contractions havent started :'( getting pretty disheartened now!!!

Wow the place you are living at is insane.
Good on losing your plug , bring it on.
(here it is all fine- the people directly below us have themselves two small kids(a 2 year old and a less than 1 year old.)
