Congrats on the birth of your Baby Sarah :).

Newborns are likely to have upset tummys because they have to get used to being used first , I hope you feel better soon but goosd that the nursing is going well :).

I had an app today and she isnt prepared to make an entrance yet :haha: only had one contraction during the CTG and this time she slept the whole time too so they woke her up to get her moving a bit lol.

to teased her on her footsies a bit :haha:
Cervix is still closed but looks like baby is sitting nice in the pelvis by now, and she weighs in (estimated) at a 4000g (+/- 500g as usual.)
I mentioned that I was itchy , but my doc took it the wrong way, he gave me an antifungal vasginal creme  should have been more precise to say that it is my skin that is itchy not my netheregions..

oh well anyway next appt is in two days for ctg where I can mention it again .

Hi Morri, it's your due date! :D Sounds like she's sitting tight for a little longer then. 4000g wow! How are you feeling?

Heavy :haha: and still itchy patches but water and placenta still look good :)

Itchiness should be taken more seriously!
But that is funny that they gave u anti fungal cream :P

BFing is going bad, but I'm trying to fix it. Milk hasnt engorged yet. So she's having to get some supplements. My latch is bad and my nipples are killing me. Trying to get it figured out.

Sorry to hear Sarah. Is the midwife helping during visits or do you have a lactation consultant?

Hope you and your little girl are doing well. :flower:

Midwife is helping me atm. Got two good latches thismorning with her. But she's still Hungry after feeding, then pumping and giving her the rest...

I'm getting so worried that my milk will never come in!

That's reassuring that she's able to latch! Not sure about the supply though. Does your midwife find that odd or is she optimistic more will come in soon?

Idk, I havent gotten a vibe either way from her. She does think that maybe it is/was partially psychological from the birth and from the pain of the BFing.
I've heard of people who have taken 2 weeks to come in... I guess as long as she doesnt go OFF the boob, it'll come in eventually?????

Well here my crossed fingers that your milk come sin soon .

Interesting, I've never heard of such causes. It can take up to 2 weeks?! Wow! Mine came in 3 days after birth, and I mean CAME IN. It was terrible. I had the opposite problem as you though - had enough milk to feed more than one baby but my daughter couldn't latch and a nipple shield wasn't helping. I'll get a Medela one beforehand this time because I was using ones given at the hospital but they kept falling off. Maybe the Medela ones could be more promising. Anyway, hope it comes in for you soon and you get some relief, pain-wise. I know the feeling. :( The first weeks are the toughest with that but they pass! :flower:

Nipples are feeling better!!!!!!! Maybe can get shield off soon. its a medela, the one that isnt round. seems pretty good though!
Milk is sightly higher than yesterday. But I dont think shes sucking too much off (im pumping the extra). probably mixture of sleepy feeder and the shield...

Have you tried any creams for the pain? DM sells one and your midwife could recommend you one I'm sure.
How often is she visiting?

Yoohoo! :D That's great! Weleda is a good brand, the body lotion works magic on my dry hands! My daughter's very allergic to it though. :/ I wasn't aware they have a nipple cream. Is that sold at DM? Never seen it before.

Congratulations on 3rd tri Whisper! Sorry I'm late! Final stretch for us! :)

It's a heilsalbe, we got it ordered in. Someone told us about it who had terrible problems BFing. They say wash off any remaining, but you dont have to wash it, it should mostly just soak in.
Little bit scared to BF without the shield today, it's kind of become my safety blanket...

Good luck trying shieldless! Hope things are going better today. How's baby Ella? Beautiful name, by the way! :)

1 week old already! Yes, the first month or two can be rough on their tummies. We gave Aurora fencheltee (10-20ml) starting when she was around 1-2 weeks old although I know many would look down on that. Just went by midwife's advice. Seemed to help with the discomfort and gassiness.

hey ladies how are you all doing? Morri has little one arrived yet?
have the hospital tour tonight exited but nervouse as its all getting so close!
