Just had a call from the midwife to say that the GT test i had earlier this week is slightly high. It should be 7.8 or under and it is 8.6.

FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else had this???????

Don't worry hun, it's really not all that bad! If they treat you, you'll need to do prick tests, just to keep an eye on your levels. They'll probably book you in to see a nutritionist about how to control it with your diet.
Let us know what she says. Has she booked you an appointment to see her?

I was just worried on the effects to the baby and stuff! Just hoping my reading is low enough to be ok!!!!

Hope you are ok with your's!

Well, just had the midwife on the phone to say that i have to go and see the specialist as it's routine when the levels are over 7.8, but not to worry as theres nothing to worry about!!!

I also read that infections and colds can raise your blood sugar levels, to which i have had both, so hoping this is what it is!!!!

Slightly less freaked out now!

Dont worry too much, watch the amount of sweet stuff you eat as this will spike your sugars (and it can last for days).

8.7 for a sugar level is not actually that high... It depends on what your normal level is, because some people have different levels of normal.

glad to hear you got some answers. Good luck at your appointment with the specialist and let us know how it goes! :hugs:

Thanks ryder!

It didn't sound too high, only 0.8 over normal!

I will limit my chocolate and stuff. Funnily enough, prior to pregnancy, i was a savoury girl and now i am more into chocolate!!!

Thanks
