Just a place to share your challenges, how your lists are getting on, found any bargains, got any recipes to share etc etc.

(Stuff in red is done :D)
My challenge for the month of September is to finish writing my present list for everyone so I'm not running around on Christmas Eve getting last minute bits and bobs.

My challenge for October is to find out if OHs parents and my parents are coming to us for Christmas dinner and to write a list of food, nibbles, and drink prices so we can split it. I also want to decorate my kitchen (paint and gloss it) + buy the stuff to make my cards.

My challenge for November is to buy my presents, get my recipes ready for Christmas day, and get my Christmas cake made mid November. Also want to write my Christmas cards out and buy all the wrapping paper and gift bags. Also to buy the decs and tree!

December is gonna be all the finishing touches like wrapping presents and handing them out, posting cards, baking treats for extra presents, buying the food and drinks, cleaning the house etc etc but I'll do weekly challenges when the time comes. + put up the tree :D

So excited and hopefully I can stay organised this year. :happydance::happydance::happydance:

My first possible bargain is the bounce n spin zebra for Amelie. Apparently Costco has the pink one for £45 inc. VAT. My friend told me so I'm going to go this weekend and get it.

Okay so I've got 2 presents for Amelie today :D:D:D:D

The pink Bounce n Spin Zebra for £43  in Costco. Bargain or what?! and I got her musical intruments set. They're really cute :) and come in the drum! They were £18.

So very happy so far.

Where was that from ... Costco? Might have to go and have a look, although i know my mums already got the pink zebra for Brooke so had better not show it to her if its in there for that price

We're moving house middle of next month so this months task is to buy a sofa so we actually have something to sit on at xmas other than matts grandparents mustard coloured one  I guess this month and next month will be all taken over by that! Ive started looking at bits n bobs for Seth, no idea what to get Matt (its his birthday on the 21st as well which is a right pain in the arse) and for the rest of the family I tend to get DVDs/Games/gifty set type things/alcohol. So shouldn't be too bad organising it :)

I think the biggest thing will actually be getting the house sorted out. I want it to be nice and homely for christmas :)

I love that music set too, is that from costco?

x

Yep :D also from Costco. It looks really good, and its dead bright. + cheaper than the ones in ELC. Thats my biggest issue Linzi, making our house a home for Christmas. We're slowly but surely getting there!

September- pick up anything present wise thats on sale
Need to pick up my new curtains for living room (have paid a deposit on them)

October- Paint my kitchen
Retouch paintwork in living room, hang curtains & hang pictures
Make a final list for the kids (have a list made but it needs tweaked and things removed that I've already got)
Look on the net for any bargains, especially Katies kitchen

November- Get all the presents for the kids
Get presents for everyone else
Buy wrapping paper
Wrap presents for under tree 29th/30th in time for the 1st

December- 1st Put tree up :D
Make a list of food
Probably buy more presents  I always do this, I'm always done in November but buy abit more as it feels more xmassy
And after months of preparations I'll only be finished on 23rd December when I do the food shopping, turkey is collected at the butchers on 24th and then its cook cook cook!

Oh yeah we've got holiday from the 7th December so need to start getting sorted for that too.

Busy few months over here but hope Christmas will be the end of it for a while! Unless Im pregnant by then

x

September - Finish buying xmas/birthday presents lol

October - Make sure everything is wrapped up and pick up any extra good deals

November - My birthday lol so nothing to do with xmas here

December - Tree up **got to get one first lol** Dec's up, presents under the tree ect

September - buy bits and bobs for stocking fillers for LO, nieces and nephews. Start thinking about organising Edwards birthday party (I know not christmas related but still important). Start making my decorations and special home made presents. Buy material to make stockings

October - Start searching for my new tree, start saving for Edwards main christmas present (smart trike delux) Get the bigger room decorated and ready for him to move into for his birthday.

November - Make my christmas cake. Write my cards. Have Edwards party. Buy bigger presents for Edward and my family (I leave DH to buy for his side) try and find out what DH wants for christmas. Make mincemeat for the mince pies

December - Ice my cake. make my mince pies. Make the peppermint creams. Make the gingerbread house (the first time I'm doing this so we'll see). Wrap the presents.

I'm probably forgetting loads of stuff I have to do but hey ho

omg i forgot all about the decs!

theres still time I only bought a small amount of felt I need to make mine. Got loads more to do

Well I managed to do Septembers list so I know what everyone is getting. I plan on starting my kitchen next week =D I've decided to make my own cards too :dohh: so that'll be getting done in October too.

I feel so unorganized! We are moving into our house in a week or two and i think this is going to be taking up most of our time! This is my first house OMG lol, i hope i get everything sorted, i am so excited for christmas and being in our home, but i am more worried about actually being able to afford presents than anything else!

You'll love it :D We moved into our first house in May and it's great having your own space plus it'll be easier for you because your baby is still on the inside! It was a nightmare trying to decorate with a tiny LO :dohh:

Ebay is a bit of a hit and a miss though  I wanted a brand new one and they're £47 pickup only on ebay!

I've done my kitchen now :D Did it all myself when OH was at work and when Amelie was in bed so proud of myself that that's out the way! looks nice, fresh and cheery now.

Got Amelie the girly mega blocks from Tesco the other day for £10 as it was half price so that's a bit of a bargain.

Gonna have a look on the internet tonight for crafty bits and bobs to make my cards, tags and to lable my jars and wrappers for my hampers.

OK don't hate me but I finished all my present shopping today

It's all bought or ordered and waiting for delivery. I've washed, ironed and wrapped the clothes gifts for Ethan (dont want them getting dusty etc), and I've separated out what will be little stocking fillers and what will go under the tree (but not wrapped yet).

Next month is my birthday then it is OH's birthday at the start of Dec so I didn't want to be worrying about everything at once. Plus this year is the first year we will be staying at home on Christmas day, which means I need to also consider food which I have never had to do before!

So end Oct / start Nov job will be sorting all the food out and buying bits and bobs every time we do a shop. I think I will also try and make a cake this year, and some mince pies yum.

end Nov / start December will be time to buy some new decorations and a real tree, and then put it up, decorate it and then just relax and enjoy. :happydance:
