Hi!

Do unfortunately I think I find myself here after enough was finally enough and I had to break up with my fiancé/fob. We will still be living together for at least the next month til we get sorted but in diff rooms obv. Were not rowing or anything and I really hope it can stay that way, for oscars sake.

What I was wondering is do any of you still have a good relationship with your ex? Are you still able do things as a 'family'- days out etc?

Sorry it hasn't worked out for you both, with my 3 older kids dad we're quite amicable towards each other and occasionally we do do things together with the kids, last time was for my sons birthday, my baby's dad is another kettle of fish, he hasn't even met his daughter yet, it ended quite badly between us, I think it depends on how it's ended tbh , if it's a mutual decision to break up and not too much anger there I don't think you'll have any probs doing things together for lo's sake, hope you do still manage to get on , it's good for the kids to see their mom an dad getting on x

We can be pleasant when we're together, last year my daughter told the staff at nursery that we were 'best friends' so i think we're doing ok at putting on a good front. However, there is a lot of underlying bad feeling which we aren't very good at dealing with. We don't do stuff together as a family as it would get very uncomfortable!

Me and FOB are great mates although sometimes he drives me up the wall lol but were very amicable and hes a fantastic dad to Noah. We do things together like take him to the park, go to baby groups and were planning a day out for his 1st birthday. Not sure what it will be like if we get other partners, hopefully the same. Good luck. You can still be amicable, its important for LO X

I do :)

People find our relationship as co-parents very strange but we get along quite well. We do have 'family' days out occasionally (we even took Lucas out for a meal on Valentine's Day ). I try arrange one every now and then as it seems to really lift Lucas spirits and I find it makes him much better behaved.
It really just works for us - as long as we stay out of each other's personal lives and don't stray conversation far from Lucas we can actually have a laugh. I cba with drama though so I do find I yield to most things to keep peace.

I think living with an ex too seems really daunting but when FOB and I split up and stayed in the same flat for a while (I didn't want to move out just before giving birth), we actually got on better than we had in months.
