Good news, I got unconditional for my hnd, so starting the degree process, would have applied for degree right now but I'm not 100 % on what i want to do yet, still swaying between 4 choices 
It's bittersweet, I am happy to be doing this, hopefully get a better job after but then I know it will mean i'm waiting for at the very least 4 years, more realistically 7-8 years by the time we save for a house
But at the same time i'll be like 28, still young .. just the thought of 8 more years waiting freaks me out a little, but i'm sure it will be worth it
